Hello,

I have issues with running eve on ubuntu.
If I execute the following code in terminal i get issues.

wine eve.exe , the launcher starts and I login.. As soon as I click on play, a new wine window opens with the game.
Whenever I want to activate the window by pressing on it or alt+tab, it automatically minimize it.
So I can't play the game.
Whenever I execute
exefile.exe inside the bin folder of EVE it is the same.
Except if I open it in a explorer like the following code:

wine explorer /desktop=eveA,1366x768 "C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin\exefile.exe"

it opens everything works but only for 1 time. As soon as I alt+tab to another window (by ex. skype) and I want to go back it minimizes again.

What could be the issue ?

Thanks in advance

I am honestly not sure why it would be minimizing. I start using this, aoss first:
export WINEDLLOVERRIDES="msvcr100,msvcr90,msvcr80=n,b;msvcrt=b,n"
/usr/bin/env WINEPREFIX="$HOME/.wine" DISPLAY=":0.0" /usr/bin/aoss wine explorer /desktop=eve1,1024x768 "C:\Games\CCP\EVE\bin\exefile.exe"

Make sure that you're doing 'full screen' inside eve by hitting escape as soon as it starts to change the settings.
Make sure your desktop size isn't larger (or even equal) to your actual desktop.

I still recommend that people use 12.04 LTS for desktop as well, just FYI. 13.10 is just too unstable for my tastes.

I suspect I just commented on you AskUbuntu question, but a workaround I have found is to minimize all other windows, then alt-tabbing to eve works.

Personally I'd just run in windowed mode without the virtual desktop. It's been working great since wine 1.6.
