Salvage and RR ship?

In the name of efficientcy, I'm considering starting an alt and using them to run missions alongside my main character, have my main do all the shooting as normal, and have the alt in a noctis hoovering everything up as I run through it, to save doing it later and meaning I can run more missions, faster. But then I got thinking, why stick with just salvaging? If I'm going to be doing it as I kill the ships then I don't need 4 tractors and 4 salvagers, I could drop them down to 3 of each and fit a medium remote armour rep and a medium power projector which would help keep the tank going. Given they are only medium modules used on a battleship its hardly going to make all the difference in the world, but equally it would be better than nothing.

But would there be any alternative ships I could do this in? Obviously larger ships can fit the large repairers and so on, but they won't get the huge tractor range bonus from the Noctis. And using a smaller, speedier ship to zip around and get all the wrecks doesn't seem to make any sense either since it won't be able to fit the larger modules anyway, so may as well use the Noctis.

Has anyone else tried something like this, and has it been any use?

Put your main in a Marauder or Faction BS and have your alt in a Rattlesnake or Domi and have him assign his drones to your main

Ah, I hadn't thought about using drones! I'll have a look into some fits like that, how much armour can a set of T2 drones heal?

Also, do repair drones benefit from those ships bonuses? I know they have drone hitpoints and damage bonuses, does the damage bonus also provide mining and repair bonuses?

Thanks!

He means to forget the RR and get another ship in there to help with the dps.

A rattlesnake could do that, and tank the mission for your main.

Or rr domi, let the reps run and drones shoot...

This plan is best plan. Domis dumps sentries, and reps main with miniscule tank/max gank build.

The problem with RR on a noctis is crap tank, you don't want it getting aggro from spans. better to have the noctis lag a room behind, or anther ship for dps.

True, though that hadn't been something I was worried about since my current Geddon tank Is fairly good as it is, but it eventually runs dry when running the large rep for a sustained period of time, so the noctis would be more to help keep it stable. And the spawns in missions don't swap targets thankfully, so surely its just a case of getting the aggro of a group with the BS, warp the noctis in and then just go through the mission normally? Or would the later groups in the same room have a chance of targeting the noctis instead of my BS when I attack to agro them?

The idea of a Domi does seem nice, only problem would be that it would take longer to train to than a Noctis. Ah well, I'll play around with that in EVEmon, thanks!
