Are you sure ?

You cared enough to post about it, and obliquely mentioned both.

You're right, there must be some latent caring. My self-awareness is crap. Shocked

So, now you will be served ads and you won't be able to look away.

Talk about a captive audience.

I don't know whether this has to mean they could not still sell the dev kit to other developers to build products that have nothing to do with Facebook.

@CCP: people I have come to love and appreciate like family [you should see my family], I will revel in the experiences you bring, but you can -never- show me an ad when I'm in the Valkyrie universe.

Do not go there, do not make that mistake. Thank you.

Now: which alternatives, other than the PS4 headset, will there be?

And what does it all mean for the existing launch schedule CCP had in mind for Valkyrie?

Yup. It's all become about "ad awareness". That's all these conglomerates care about.

They seem to forget that a lot of us find ads offensive. Interrupting my TV show every 12 minutes (At least in Europe they save the TV ads for after the program is over).

I always absolutely mute ads before video clips and news stories. Believe me, Coca-Cola and Apple, we are all quite aware of you and your products. Have been for decades.

It's like the public is being turned upside down and shaken for what little change is left in one's pockets.

What happens to these companies dependent on ad revenue when ALL the pocket change has been finally cleared out ??

Zucker's inspiration began almost 30 years ago.

Although it probably had more to do with "interfacing" with Ashley Judd Lol

If you can't wait to try the new Facebook VR experience and own the Oculus rift already, you're in luck! Some enterprising fellow made a mock-up already.

Still works for me. Eve forums turn & into amp and that's why you can't just click the link. Paint the link, control-c and paste it in the address bar.

.......mmmm maybe not: Not so sweet IPO: Candy Crush maker slides 15%

It's gonna be interesting when folks get bored of Twitter, the kids leave Facebook, the public refuses to wear Google Glass, etc etc etc, and it all collapses at the investor's feet.

The repercussions will be astonishingly amusing to watch. But could also be not-so-fun in RL. It could affect entire economies.

Remember, AOL and Netcom, Webvan, Pets.com.............................all were the hot new investment.

The current IPO investment market is around 1,000 times the magnitude of those early collapses.

Just buckle up for the ride. It's gonna be a bumpy decade.

If you did not care you would not have posted, but your comments show that you more than likely actually have a distaste for at least one of the entities, therefore you do care. The care may not be positive in nature, but it is a care none the less. That being said you could be an anomaly. One where they feel so important that their 'lack of opinion' had to be presented to those that are in the discussion.

As there is already a thread on the same topic, this one gets a lock.
I am aware this one is older then the thread pointed at by a few hours, but as that thread has gathered more momentum I decided to lock this one instead.

The rules:
16. Redundant and re-posted threads will be locked.

As a courtesy to other forum users, please search to see if there is a thread already open on the topic you wish to discuss. If so, please place your comments there instead. Multiple threads on the same subject clutter up the forums needlessly, causing good feedback and ideas to be lost. Please keep discussions regarding a topic to a single thread.
