It's in my head, now it's in your browsers...

Wim Mertens - Often a bird (YouTube)

Dunno why, I am fixated that this song's title is "Sometimes a bird" rather than "Often a bird"...

Interesting, enjoyed the 60's songs, no other way I could even remotely know about them, not my style but good to hear something diff once in a while, today as I'm cheerful as Xmas is coming down and everyone begins to change their outlook as lots and lots of people begin the xmas gift buying craze and seeing family all over you get a lot of nice traditional songs

Right now Im listening to

Cumbia Soledeña

And songs like these ones which are typical during Xmas season

Jose Feliciano - Feliz navidad (thats like an Anthem to some of us LOL)

Rodolfo en Navidad

El Año Viejo- Tony Camargo, this song so OLD, it doesnt have a proper video ... only an endless replay during the ages.

Ahhh I'm nostalgic, I miss making a straw man filled with old newspapers and clothing him in old clothes, then refilled again with all kinds of black powder pyrotechnics, to BLOW UP / BURN/HANG during New Year's right at Midnight.

I still don't know well where it comes from, but it's like a pagan ritual of celebrating the new year by burning, hanging and or blowing up an old straw man and then the ashes being left to be blown by the wind. As all of us eat and share our traditional Xmas dinner plate of HALLACAS.

In Panama they have something like a mexican tamale but man good thing a lot of venezuelans here, so much OM NOM NOM of nice traditional goodies ...

Ahhh Xmas ... I still remember hating it when I was younger, as I grow older I begin to see the real value behind it.

LOL @ El año viejo, I knew that one... Lol

I copied the idea of this thread from another forum, so people can share h what they listen to and be "exposed" to different stuff that other epopel listen to. People tends to be very limited and close-minded when it comes to music, whereas I am very eclectic... I like a gazillion things and dislike a gazillion more (regretfully, I dislike 99% of what comes out from the "caribbean" nowadays -"caribbean music" being how Spaniards call to almost anyhing related to the Gulf of Mexico).

Anyway, i will keep "exposing" people to different music. Today i'm listening to something 99.99% of you never listened to; that's some modern Greek pop. Dunno the lyrics but it's very nice to listen.

Kostas Bigalis- Simadaki melano (2006)

Roses are red / Violets are blue / I am an Alpha / And so it's you
