Small gang blaster Rokh

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone here uses the blaster Rokh with success? I for one don't really see any reason to use it over a Mega or Hyperion. What did I miss? The only advantage I see is more damage at range when fitted with rails. So, are Caldari hybrid ships just good snipers offering instant damage compared to the Caldari missile line? In other words: one-trick ponies?

BTW: this question could be extended to many Caldari hybrid ships. Why Ferox over a Brutix for instance? Why Moa over Vexor/Thorax?

Moa, Ferox and Rokh can be fitted as good blaster boats, however as you pointed out in small gangs the Gallente hybrid line is more versatile. The main reason you'd want the Caldari hybrid boats is if you're running shield logi obviously, also you'd be surprised how well these ships can project damage with blasters, especially large Blasters from the Rokh can hit very well out to long point range with null. They also have more free lowslots for damage mods which kinda equalizes the dps difference between Gallente and Caldari hybrid boats.
