I am a pilot that is based in high sec but also frequents low and null on a daily basis. Currently I have all shootable (without consequence) enemies in high sec to have a blinking background.

While in WH or Nullsec though, I can sometimes be caught off guard as targets sneak up on my overview without any blinking background. I COULD set every target I see as a blinking background but then it won't transfer well in high sec. Of course I aim to improve myself in monitoring my overview properly but I figured why not throw out an idea for improved UI?

Here is what I am suggesting: Have different overview appearance settings for High Sec/Low Sec/WH-Null

That way I can for instance have EVERYONE except my friendlies blinking when I am in null/wh space and my current normal rules in high sec.

What does everyone think?

You can already do this by creating a wormhole specific tab in your overview and then switching to it when you are, well, in a wormhole. This is a great guide to setting up your overview and you can use the skills you pick up from it to create a custom tab for your purposes.

I went through the guide and also tried myself to see if I made a mistake but it appears that this is not the case.

Although I can set up brackets and filters for each tab, I can't actually personalize the background or appearance settings to each tab. Just allowing this to happen would be an improvement and should be sufficient to what I want to do.

Nevertheless with a 5 tab limit, conditional appearances that can switch based on security status would be even better - but I imagine with everyone doing the cookie-cutter guide presented in this thread that it would be of benefit to a niche group.
