I don't think "can't think of a use for" is accurate, or fair.

Just a question of priorities. Core competencies, please.

SO gimme a sec to understand this
The OP wants to add spreadsheets to the little utilities folder (along side the calculator, and notepad).
And you want to be able to link input fields in your spreadsheets to selectable information onscreen (perhaps by right clicking on info you want to use, and sending it to your spreadsheet)
MATH happens
and then has a customizable output box that can be set up on your screen to tell you what your spreadsheets are mathing for.

Also possibly being able to share this information with fleet?

Possible things this could be useful for include.
Adding your own special box that has tranversal/angular velocity of your currently selected target (these are already shown on the overview with the proper tabs, but this would give you clearer data about who you're actively shooting.)

With some math you could display the amount of time until your tank breaks, by integrating the numerous "damage" inputs (they're already displayed, and kept in a nice log for you, ingame) This especially could be nice for cap pilots

Build that "eve autopilot calculator" into your interface. Also edit it as needed to account for getting web support, and manually flying.

Basically in the grand scheme of things. It would effectively move a lot of currently external utilities into the game, and allow faster throughput of data for players.

I see no problem. Works for me.
Only problem is implementation, which the Devs might have a lot of problems with. (although it would be new code, rather than working on old code, and thus might end up easier than we all think)

But heres my question to other posters.... how does this "help" botting?
There is no mention of the math executing commands in the game. Simply of it displaying information that you ask for.

Lykouleon, you honestly didn't even read the OP. And I think I understand why. Becasue the title says "macro builder" which years of gaming has taught you means "botting." Please read threads, rather than just posting without thinking in the future.

Trevor Dalech, There are many other circumstances that could be made better by being able to generate information on hand for you. Although bonus points for at least posing an argument unlike many others
Perhaps add in a box, that based on your own missiles exprad/exp vel, a precreated value of what you think a target's sigrad should be based on stock stats, or MWDing, or links, and their current speed, and calculate out about how much DPS you think you're doing to them. The DPS that fleetmembers are dealing can be kinda important to an FC, if you suddenly notice that they're taking less damage then you think they should.
Ofcourse these values could be done outside of the game. But it can be pretty straining to try and focus on fighting in game, and inputting info into a calculator outside of the game.

Serene Repose... I really think that this would be so players could make their own "useless icons", and have them in the game, rather than on their desktop (or their "eve math" folder)

To Solecist Project. You can stop a ship where you want it to. Heck I used to be able to manually aim in Steel Battalion online without the lockon system and lead targets in that.(also, leading shots and accounting for drop/wind while playing airsoft on a windy day, dumbfiring torps in silent hunter games, and navigate in KSP without needing data interface mod like mechjeb or KER), Does it mean I can do math in my head really well? Perhaps, but I've never seen it as math but more of an experience thing.
Problem is, whether I have experience or not, or can do math or not isn't the issue. Its getting clear information to use yourself or for your FC to use so that everyone in your gang is on the same page.
Also, and I'm sorry to be rude, but theres some real... lack of thought in the "find tools/use your brain" statement.
This change is about players being able to MAKE those tools and having them work in game rather than having to need 3 monitors with spreadsheets open in the other 2 at all times, and having to skip out of the game. Which for some people with low end machines, alt-tabbing can be a time sink/cause crashes. Also while your alttabbed, the game keeps going, and for a lot of the things I could see me doing with this change, they'd generally be happening while I'm fighting.

Whatever, in the end, probably not gonna happen anyways (like thousands of other threads about QOL improvements)

That is EXACTLY what I intended.
