I think it's because the dev post was informing us of a thread clean-up, rather than actually containing useful information/jokes.

It was a complaint on the old forum.

Someone would start a thread named like CCP Please Fix Hybrids and someone would make an off topic post or it would get moved and it is like 20 Pages long and growing. So people browsing the forums would be sifting through the thread just to come across an Off Topic post Removed then have to finish sifting to see if there was a real Dev Post after that.

This way if a Dev actually has something to say you can identify it and look it up using the Dev Finder tool.

Thats a caldari station/outpost. Labratory type if i recall right

I was about to make a more detailed one but you beat me to it, well at least this is more expandable until launch day.

In truth, I didn't recognise the outpost but I'm thinking that the login will have the new infrastructure and new BCs, assuming current ones are placeholders.

You know they don't release "Patch Notes" until right before the patch comes out ... right? Shocked

On SISI the autolinked text is nolonger yellow --- its white and does not stand out near as much X

Please fix this -- I hope this is not a feature

Guristas should have "BIGGER" Skull Bunnies in the default paintjob. Guristas and all other pirates should get custom ships like angels (or at LEAST fix the HIDEOUS Moa/Gila hull).

I second this, I've fallen in love with the classic orange hyper link color in EVE.

Hopefully this gets fixed along with no rightclick availability in chat windows, and capital i being utterly indistinguishable from lower case L.

EDIT --- Please ignore this rant -- this problem was addressed already but thank everyone that has helped get this "pre-patch notes" up and running so that we can have input on all the changes :)

The four racial fuel blocks will be built in batches of four in all stations, plus starbase ammo assembly arrays (blueprints coming to a Thukker Mix station near you; build time approximately ten minutes). Each batch of four will need the following components:
• 8x Coolant
• 4x Enriched Uranium
• 400x relevant racial Isotope
• 4x Mechanical Parts
• 20x Oxygen
• 1x Robotics
• 150x Heavy Water
• 150x Liquid Ozone

Towers will use 1 block/hour for small, 2 blocks/hour for medium and 4 blocks/hour for large. The CPU and Power load will no longer have any impact on your fuel needs - all towers now need the same amount of fuel, regardless of configuration.

Blocks will be 50m3 each. To make fuel bay sizes line up more nicely, we've boosted the bays on normal towers to 35/70/140k, so you get a nice round 700 cycles in each, which works out at a hair over 29 days. (Does not affect strontium bays!)

The one downside of this big-blocks approach is that it's impossible to give faction towers a fuel consumption bonus any more (you can't consume 2/3 of a block). We talked to some large-scale starbase operators about this, and they told us that the main bonus of faction towers for them is actually that they last longer between fuel cycles. To try and compensate for the increased running costs, we've taken the above bay size increases and added +25% bay size on top of that for the "tier 1" faction towers, and +50% bay size for the "tier 2" ones. We're hoping people will find that a satisfactory tradeoff, but we're listening for further feedback on this change.

I don't mind the CPU/powergrid tradeoff for the simplification but the complete loss of the bonus for the faction towers is just wrong.

This is NOT a satisfactory trade off ----

With the current proposal each current block is 50m3 and are made in batches of 4

thats 200 m3 to work with

one possibility is to change it to producing 40 blocks at 5m3 apiece
then having small towers need 10
tier 1 factions need 9
tier 2 factions need 8

so u CAN consume a fraction of a block.

My specific numbers are a rough guess and there is prob a division that is more equivalent to current for running towers but the division is EASILY possible.

Normal towers would still use the same amount of fuel at the same cost and ocupying the same ammount of space --- BUT this would let people that paid insane amounts of isk for thier faction towers to benefit from that investment.

If this is not remedied then faction towers are just going to be collector items.

This has actually already been addressed, per this post. I'll update the OP.

(Though they wouldn't just be collector's items; remember that they would have more fitting, more shields, and a faster deployment time.)

Here is the latest update on these ships:

NAGA

  • Missile role removed, now focuses as a hybrid platform
  • 10% Torpedo velocity per level swapped for 5% to Large Hybrid Turret damage per level

As pointed out, even with the velocity bonus, torpedoes have a too short of a range to be useful in practical situation with the Naga since it has the lowest mobility of all tier 3 battlecruisers and quite poor defensive options. Aligning this ship into a missile platform would have required a long range option as well, meaning the use of cruise missiles, which created a certain number of issues.

Specializing for a hybrid long range platform made more sense with the Naga role, which is why the damage bonus was appealing, especially when combined with CCP Tallest changes; it also makes more sense regarding Caldari tier philosophy, where highest tech 1 tiers usually are hybrid platforms (Merlin, Moa, Rokh).

TALOS

  • 25m3 dronebay and bandwidth added

Even if quite in opposition with the tier 3 battlecruiser role design, it adds an edge this ship needs over the other variants, especially since the Naga now it does the same damage with Hybrids. So, while we are looking at the blaster situation, we agreed giving the Talos a bit more survability against smaller threats was a good compromise for the time being.

TORNADO

  • Large Projectile Turret Falloff reduced from 10 to 5% per level

The reason for this reduction was mainly due to the range falloff reaches on autocannons when combined with the proper rigs, Barrage and Tracking Enchancers, dwarfing blasters in the close range department; we will see how the situation evolves and possibly make further changes to compensate.

Also, please note some small powergrid/CPU changes may happen to the tier 3 battlecruisers in the next build.

Thanks for your time.

Also new Sisi patch today expect another round and storm of OMG updates.
