The launcher brings news of painted ships, which we already know of. But it mentions how ORE faction ships are getting paintjobs in the near future.


I can't tell if this is a good thing? Or a very BAD thing.

I welcome more ship skins regardless. I will also laugh at whatever madness it causes.

Paint schemes that are TOO expensive (as I believe they are right now) are not worth buying. At least from my point of view.

Since I live and die in Nullsec, adding expense to ships that adds no tactical benefit is just a way of damaging your KB stats.

Now, if I still lived in Hisec and was missioning and mining all day long, I could see getting a paint job done on my primary ships. Mackinaw, Paladin... etc. Not sure if they offer that yet.

Of course all this does is fuel the thirst for tears by the gankers. Can't wait to see those KM's.

tl;dr - Expensive paint jobs are for carebears.

Maybe, if the KBs implemented some mini-games/rules where a combination of different colored skins of your ship gave you more points for the kill, you'd talk about it differently.

Have all ships in your gang painted the same corp skin? "All of a kind" x1.5 multiplier to the KB points
All ships having individual paint jobs? "Rainbow" x3.0 multipler
Rainbow vs Rainbow fleet? "C-C-C-Combo breaker" x10!

Come to think of it, KBs are sorely missing "Achievements" akin to mobile and social games.

Neither. It is a problem with user-perceived value of the KB.

Can we get a paint scheme for barges that utilizes some sort of Bullseye?

I think untanked barges should have a different paint scheme then the tanked ones. Give the gankers easier targets. Lol

Just because you find no value in a KB does not mean it has no value. Once again we have a problem with a player only associating value to the way they play the game. Not thinking that all types of play need to be accepted and encouraged in order for EVE as a whole to flourish.

I don't value ore processing tables, but that does not mean they are NOT valuable to EVE online as a whole.

tl:dr - Stay in hisec you carebear and let the real men play the game.
