I will ignore the obvious troll.

I did laugh at a few bits though.

I am sure CCP's vision of the Rorqual will be very different from what it is now, and will not show any resemblance to what I, nor anyone else, think it will be. We will have to wait for how they think it will survive in a belt, or if they intent you to use an orca or command ship for boosting in the belt and keep the Rorqual in a pos.

I have wondered what the smallest fleet to take on a Rorqual was. the last time I saw a Rorqual in a belt was several years ago (scalding pass iirc) when 3-4 Ishtar's with a few logistics poped the Rorqual drones as they were deployed and then wore it down.
Why it was in the belt , and where were the miners or defence fleet, is another question.

You can call me a troll, or you can call me someone who is taking the time to consider your proposal and provide counter-points. If you don't like counter-points, then you shouldn't make proposals in this subforum.

Throughout the history of capital ships in Eve, there has never been a time when a capital ship was intended by design to operate autonomously without a higher level of combat support or protection. Your proposals for the Rorq trend heavily in this area of a all-in-one package - and I would have to say you are being disingenuous to claim that isn't the case.

For example, why would you want the Rorq to have an SMA that can hold non-Industrial ships or have enhanced repairing power when there are already capital ships which fit that exact role? Carriers have a large SMA, have all the repairing power you envision for the Rorqual and more, and unlike the Rorqual, you have 4 flavors of carriers to choose from! If you want to deploy a Rorqual to a belt, why would you not deploy a carrier with it if that's what you desire?

Your other proposals regarding capacitor warfare immunity, a indy siege mode that still allows you to operate as a normal ship, (which says: "I want to be able to cyno out at a moment's notice no matter what I'm doing"), "11 or 12" medium or low slots (which says: "I want to fit a massive tank AND warp core stabs") - these all point to you wanting to be able to field a ship in a quasi-solo manner that is invulnerable on its own to anything smaller than a purpose-designed medium fleet. Honestly, I'm surprised you didn't throw bubble immunity in there for good measure.

Now, I too want to see the Rorq's role be less-confined to that of a POS queen. Today's reprocessing change devblog gives it a good shot in the arm, but still doesn't entice its exiting from a POS forcefield as a normal course of operation. Without tangible combat support, perhaps it shouldn't. But your suggestions go too far, and in the historical realm of capital ships, you have some suggestions which are without any precedent or overlap heavily (I would say, redundantly) with existing ships.

-to focus very narrowly on the subject -

The Clone vat bay does need a rework, not being able to store implanted clones is a hindrance.
Speed, movement, cycle times all work into this .. simply put, it should be easier to use with less penalties.
I like the idea of clone jumping from a station into the "Rorq Clone" .... going on a mining op .... dock the clone in the Rorq and clone jump back to the original station with no JC timer penalty .
The caveat would be that a "Rorq Clone" can only fly exumers and indy ships / can not pass through jump gates, self destruct = 24 hr JC timer ....Just an idea, certainly flawed....to OP ?

The passive/active mining boosts are balanced-ish. An undeployed Rorq should not out boost an Orca.

The latest Devblog addresses many of issues with the UI, prints and compression, and mining / refine yeilds.
( i would like to be able to compress PI materials as well )

The ORE bays on the Rorq and Orca need to be "fleeted" like the Fleet Hangar / Ship Maintenance bay ... PLEASE !
The Rorq needs the Fleet hangar expanded to at least 50,000 m3 , a larger Ore bay on both ships would be useful.
The Ore bay should allow refined ice / ore / gas products, any PI product, moon products, ...etc.

We know that currently there are many ways the Rorq and Orca are used other than for mining etc.

To quote Tarsas Phage ' Now, I too want to see the Rorq's role be less-confined to that of a POS queen. Today's reprocessing change devblog gives it a good shot in the arm, but still doesn't entice its exiting from a POS forcefield as a normal course of operation. I agree..... get the Rorq out of the POS and into space.

Maybe the indy core and mining links need to be unusable inside the POS ( like all the others are)
Perhaps a game mechanic that would allow the use of a deployed Rorq in the ore site, but with an ability for an attentive mining director to warp away .
Maybe a 1 min cycle timer on the IndyCore and a short ship animation would make scouts and defense fleets more useful.
As it is now....the Rorq is safe in the POS, and I only have worry about warping out the Hulks.

IMHO...I think the Orca could use one more of each slot, The Rorq's slot layout is fine, maybe trade a low for mid.
But the Rorq should not have the combat strength / force projection that Carriers have, but to bolster its defensive capabilities would be appreciated .

The use of the Triage module by the Rorq to allow for repping stations or Sov structures, or POS's.
But the use of remote rep combat Rorq's is not my intent .

Looking forward the upcoming Industrial changes and the summer expansion.

Allow the Rorqual to use jump gates?

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

I disagree...the Rorq is a capital ship...and should stay in null.low.sec
..maybe the new player built gates might be capable of handling capitals but force projection is already an issue.
