What is the project from Duvolle called "Final Soldier"?

"In early YC111, an internal document from Cromeaux leaked to the press describing a new program called "Final Soldier." Although the aim of the project is unknown, the document does confirm that resources from both Duvolle's Personal Weapons Division and Cromeaux Inc. are involved, and that the team is headed by Xarasier himself."


Is that the technology behind the DUST mercs?
Or something else?

Well, the paragraph above it certainly seems to hint it being related to clone soldiers. YC111 corresponds to the real life year 2009 - the year wormoholes were introduced, and where the DUST tech is derived from. So yes it probably was laying groundwork for DUST backstory even if DUST 514 would become a reality years later.

Altough - wasn't it the Amarr Empire that finally cracked the safe way of making DUST implants?

Well, from the end of the book Templar One, I would assume it was Ishukone, Gallente and Mordu's Legion who did it.

Yes, but those were from harvested Sleeper implants, not the reverse engineered versions mercs use today.

The original Templars were destroyed, because the original Sleeper implants made them insane.
