Right now, if you set destination, then your route will appear through space, connecting system to system to system. All the systems in (I think a region) are visible from the sky of a given system. So why not let us view all the data that can be seen on the map, in a configurable format from this backdrop as well? We could see 'system's you've visited' 'system traffic' 'npc kills' 'sec status' etc, just by configuring and looking at space. No more time spent loading up the map when you're bumming around lowsec, you can plot out your route just by looking around you in space. Its already there, so why not give it the same functionality as the other tool that does the same thing?
