Marriage?? In Eve??? Oh well...one could say what's 1 more scam in Eve Big smile

But ...who says marriage, says divorce.
And do you really want that in world where people are immortal and have a limitless supply of weapons?
You could get in the middle of a fight everywhere !
oh wait.... Smile

It would be an interesting way of settling marital disputes. Twisted

An interesting new SOV mechanic? Twisted

A friend of mine had a foursome with his wife and two of her clones.

Is that polgamy ? Or is it monogamous because technically he only married once.

After rereading the thread I remembered this thread in f&i.

Not sure though, if this is what OP was looking for Lol.

They are humans like us, and the institution of family exists in eve universe. When your clone die, another one would take its place. If emotional bonds are transferred to the new clone, its possible. We need lore expert here.

RL couples? Dunno. Not sure what the point would be unless for RP or character backgrounds.

But the marriage of characters themselves isn't uncommon within the roleplay community.

Civil unions would be necessary in EVE to make this really take off. Or we can debate the definition of marriage, if we must use that word. We already have gun control debates (highsec carebears vs everyone else) so why not?

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

Don't worry about civil unions, bring in non-consensual marriage.

The possibilities are endless.

I'd rather see them implement a twerking animation before marriage....

Marriage in EVE could be neat.. ability for couples to have limited access to each other's skills, shared hangar, tax shelter.. but since this is EVE everyone will just marry their own alts.

That can be prevented with some simple coding, no doubt.

I can see it now...

"In the matter of Divorce between Jane Smith and John Smith due to irreconcilable differences Jane Smith is awarded the following:

One Large POS located in XYS system

25 percent of all ISK earned per month for spousal support

5,000,000 Skill Points in Spaceship Command

3,000,000 Skill Points in other skills to be selected by Jane Smith

Serious post: by the time eve would have taken place, you would assume society would be progressive enough that marriage had been abolished for so long that it wasn't even a memory. We're already taking steps at getting rid of it today.

Not so serious: capsuleers are immortal. Why the hell would you marry someone when you could bang hot chicks/dudes for eternity.

er capsuleers bang? I mean yeah when you bump each other in space in pods, but I think the closest thing to sex they get is entering a ship or docking. Or are we all buying into that WiS bullshit that we arent capsuleers anymore and can leave them now?

lol though; Sealing alliances with marriage

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

Capsuleers being able to leave capsules has always been part of Eve's lore.

Whenever someone on a gaming forums promotes a "simple" idea they really have no idea how difficult it really is.

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=298596&find=unread OATHS wants you. Come to the WH "Safety in eve is the greatest fallacy you will ever encounter. Once you accept this you will truely enjoy this game."
