Why would you lie to new players? Or, well… I know why you would, but in more general terms: what kind of horrible person would go out of his way to deliberately misinform players about the game like that?

Quote:
I will do the public service of informing prospective eve subscribers that I've been told on the forums that they should buy a character.
Griefing is not a public service, nor is lying.

It's not griefing, it's relaying the information you've provided to me. Unless you're stating that your own suggestion would be griefing. Which if that's the case, shame on you.

Deliberately misleading new players about how the game works is most definitely griefing.

Except, of course, that I didn't provide it to you — you made it up by completely mangling what people are telling you.

So again: why are you lying to new players?

So by your logic, telling a new player to buy a character rather than build your own is "griefing".

But here's the kicker.

I'm a new player, and you told me to buy a new character. According to you, you're griefing new players.

No, that's your lack of logic.

Nope.

So, again: why are you lying to new players?

So, is Tippia roasting Divine Entervention over Divine's imprecise use of words and terms and Divine is desperately trying to save face, or is Divine sublimely trolling Tippia?

To get back on topic[1], is it harder or easier or even possible for new players/characters to effectively troll the forums?

[1] For varying definitions of on topic.

How screwed up are you? I admire your persistence but you've been cornered. Continuing to struggle only proves you're weak in being unable to admit you've made a mistake and are wrong.

And you're continuing right now to insist that you're not wrong after being so blatantly proven other wise only serves to prove you're weak in being unable to admit you've made a mistake and are wrong.

And then stating that is wrong because of the previous wrong because of wrong is wrong is wrong only serves to prove you're weak in being unable to admit you've made a mistake and are wrong.

I understand with you, because you're the type of person who cannot be wrong under any circumstance, that you'll never admit to or believe it. But I don't need you to understand, because I don't live through you. I understand.

You're wrong.

Hey everyone, according to Tippia, anyone who tells new people that they should "buy a character rather than develop his own" is "griefing new players". You can read it and see it for yourself.

But then he ignores the fact that I'm a new player and he told me to buy a new character rather than develop my own, which means according to him, he just griefed me.

CCP takes griefing new players very seriously and I think it should be brought to their attention that according to himself, he's a noob griefer.

Yes, I said that griefing and lying are not services to the public. I also asked you a question: why would you lie to new players?

Quote:

Oh, roughly not at all.

Nope. That's something you've invented (read: lied about).

Is telling new players to buy a character rather than develop their own lying to them?

Telling them that it's the only way to get to do what they want is.

Look, DE, I need to go get some sleep so if there are any more lies your compulsion requires you to get off your chest, now would be a good time… and if not, could you please wait until tomorrow to unleash them? Since you are so interested in not hurting people's feelings, you should know that I would be very upset to wake up with to a thread full of more lies from you…

I'm repeating your answer verbatim.

If you consider your own answer as lying when I repeat it, it's still you considering your own answer as lying.

That is what we call a lie by omission, and modifier or no, it's still a lie on your part.

If all you did were to repeat it, I would not consider it a lie. But since you edit it, mangle it, take it out of context, misrepresent it, and then foist it off as almost the exact opposite of what I said, I will call it a lie, and you a liar. It's only fitting, what with all your lies, see?

So: why are you lying to new players? (No wait… don't answer that until tomorrow).

Prospective New player: Hey I was thinking of trying out eve.

Me: Tippia told me, as a new player, that you should buy a character rather than develop your own.

Tippia: I didn't say that.

Me: *provides the quote and context where he said that.*

Tippia: No

Me: Yes

On and on.

In the end

EvE: Minus one prospective new player

Tippia: I did not say that

Me: *Provides the quote and context.*

On and on.

Please provide the quote where I say that new players should buy new characters rather than develop their own. And be quick about it before I fall asleep.

I see so many people saying that its so much easier making ISK in null sec than high sec with things like 100m an hour often banded around. However from my experience people seem to forget the amount of SP needed to make that kind of ISK. To get that kind of ISK from what I can tell you need a tech 2 fitted battleship at level 5 to achieve the 1000+ need to kill the rats fast enough. And to be honest not that many new players are going to be able to have that kind of ships around for years. I'm about 10 months into the game and even I don't have that kind of skills yet.

Best I can do in the drone regions is 15m ISK an hour and that's only because of there is a low sec level anomaly (drone herd) that I can handle. By the way I was making 15m ISK an hour in high sec with lvl 4 missions.

So my point is yes the ISK in null sec may be higher, but it requires a lot more skills than most new players are going to have.

Please god not another one of these threads.

There is so much fail in that post that I can't even be bothered to point it out.

In short you are doing it wrong to have earnings that low.

Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction...
