I'm not sure whether this was planned or what (I haven't seen any announcements) but this morning API calls to api.eve-online.com are no longer working. However api.eveonline.com continues to work.

e.g.

https://api.eve-online.com/server/ServerStatus.xml.aspx
https://api.eveonline.com/server/ServerStatus.xml.aspx

Even if it's just a bug, for anyone else using api.eve-online.com, it may be best to change URLs.

It was about time. Probably the domain expired today. They did say they where changing the domain (I believe it was when they switched to SSL) but never announced when the old would expire. Same thing as with legacy API keys.

Welp... we moved the API to a new set of servers and just changed some bindings... probably didn't move those ones over...

Sorry about that! Glad you were able to figure it out.

Confirming what CCP Foxfour said, HTTP/HTTPS through api.eve-online.com is not supported anymore. The supported method is HTTPS through api.eveonline.com (HTTP will redirect).

A devblog from Sep 2012 on HTTP redirecting permanently to HTTPS and https://api.eveonline.com being the thing (while there still being support for api.eve-online.com): https://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/api-spring-cleaning/

We announced the move from api.eve-online.com to api.eveonline.com before that, probably sometime in 2010-2011 but I'm not finding exactly when we announced it.

Thanks for confirming my sayings.

Thanks for the confirmation guys. I had switched to SSL some time ago, but apparently I missed the announcement about the domain change.Smile
