Hi,

after today's patch my client doesn't start anymore. The launcher quits but the actual client window doesn't even come up anymore.

None of the core_user*, core_char* files which sometimes cause trouble are even updated at launch time, so deleting them (which sometimes helps with other issues) doesn't help in this case.

I ran the client for several hours before downtime today, no problems whatsoever. So pretty sure it's patch related.

Have you tried using the repair tool?

Yes, but it changed nothing. In fact, it seemed to have restored a pre-patch state because after opening the launcher afterwards it downloaded another patch.

Reinstalled client and the same happened as before. Only after giving it another try the client worked again.... very obscure.

I have had an issue of late where the client hangs for a good while 1-3 minutes from time I hit login. Didn't have this problem before, but I recently started using the "auto play" option upon login. When I get home I will uncheck that box and check

I had this today - but only after the SiSi mass test last night ..

All of my account info gone from the launcher .. and on logging in the launcher screen closes and nothing boots
Repair tool claims success .. then the patch downloads again .. and it re-borks ..

from the Repair Tool

(the Client Clones I have via Clonemaker still work .. )

THIS IS WHY I AM PISSED THAT WE GO TO SMALLER MORE FREQUENT ROLLOUTS ... IT JUST MEANS MORE DOWNTIME FOR THE NON-CORE OS

I think the latest patches (and even more so the sisi one) have introduced changes to the mac adaption layer (cider). For me, the starting issues went away with this:

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=4600110#post4600110

To check whether this fix can help you, I suggest starting the launcher via the terminal.
Open the terminal and type

/Applications/EVE\ Online.app/Contents/MacOS/launcher

The launcher should start, and debug output should appear in the terminal window.
If after trying to start the client, the output complains something about missing some drive E: or something about @tmp@,
then you might want to try the instructions in my other forum post.

Great Tip ..
I Get this when the terminal winodow runs alongside

CH_LOG - Play pid: 1282
Line 35: Malformed value '"Path" = “/tmp”'
Could not stat /Users/admin/Library/Application Support/EVE Online/win95 (No such file or directory), ignoring drive E:
Invalid path 'e:\tg-admin' for temp directory: does not exist
Perhaps you have not properly edited or created your Wine configuration file.
This is (supposed to be) '/Users/admin/Library/Application Support/EVE Online/config'

But when I edit it by putting back the @ .. it still doesnt catch

Got the exact same messages. And creating the symbolic link like I described helped me, at least.

Also, depending on what you use to make the changes, OSX sometimes automatically replaces the " (quotes symbol) for you and they will be very slightly different to the ones before - it's almost unnoticeable, but it won't work.

What I did was copy-paste the " from a line or two below this way ensuring they are the correct.
Took a while before I noticed this, but I think it can be an issues if you're not careful.
