I did the tutorials. I finished the exploration tutorial last. I thought it was so cool to be able to explore space! So I got in my shiny new Cormorant, fit it to cover anything that could possibly happen (it was a terrible fit, but I thought it was great) and as luck would have it, the first thing I found was a wormhole! The wormhole leads to unknown parts of space, you say? Well hot damn! I'm looking to explore unknown parts of space! I jumped in and was killed by I have no idea what the hell it was right on the hole.

Second attempt 2005-2006: played docking tutorial (you had to ask station for permission to dock) and couple mining tutorials, calculated I need two months to upgrade my frigate to corvette, quit ~1 hour after start.

Third attempt 2007: did few tutorial missions, used gate, lost direction, got into low-sec, popped, quit. It took couple hours.

Forth (successful) attempt, 2009: tutorials were good, so I finally got a clue - what the heck I was doing? Then started to do missions, 3 weeks later I was in Dominix.

If only you were not such an easy quitter you would have not missed out on so much fun as i had during that same period , 2004-2007 was the best years Blink.

We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.

I did the tutorials.
Ran some missions.
I fitted a probe launcher in a Catalyst and went to low sec to explore. Got killed in an anomaly by Blood npcs.
Mined a little, but got tired in two days. Probably less.
Joined a null sec corp and moved to Providence.

Tutorials, Joined a corp, ran pve in a fail fit catalyst. Then lived in an exequrer for a while (combat fit?) because it was the cheapest cruiser.

-Did all the tutorials
-Ran the SoE epic arc
-Joined E-Uni and learned a bunch of stuff

I got hooked into Eve after the PL Revenant kill made news. I had read about the game from time to time as big events broke into the wider nerd press, but for some reason last July I figured I had to check this stuff out. Basically my trial period was learning stuff in a methodical manner, that's just how I roll. This character started off as a FW alt (I wanted to try it out, but it was against E-Uni policy) and ended up becoming my main.

first time in 200?: logged in my computer could just barely load the captain quarters, said "well hell if this is how the first most meaningless area is going to load I may as well quit now" and did

second time in 2013: logged in, thankfully not in the captains quarters, did all the tutorial missions, ran a bunch of L1's and L2's got myself podded in lowsec thought it was a lot of fun and exactly what I was looking for in a game and here I am almost a year later!

Did some tutorials
Lost my rookie ship

Did some more tuts
Forgot to bring my scanning probes home

Did some mining
Just about fell asleep and decided to never mine again

Got drunk
Got blown up by concord or one of his buddies

Did the noob SOE arc thing
Made some isk

Took a trip to null
Didn't need to fly them 10+ jumps home

Got stuck on a lvl 3 mission for about 3 hours Oops
Got told by npc corpies my drake was a shitfit and had some sound chap help me fit it better

Skilled into raven
Noticed i didn't have the skills to fit it Oops

Now I'm just kinda waiting on skills for my raven, I've got lvl 4 security missions available, but I'm not sure if my ravens quite up for it yet and im paranoid of them jamming my warp thing and not being able to escape if needed lol

I did:
- the tutorials for the agents in Jouvulen system (december 2009)
- mined in Ekura system (next door to Jouvulen) first in Bantam, next in Osprey to get iskies for more ships.
- scanned for stuff, found mostly stuff too difficult for my n00b fits
- at age of 3 days took a Heron I got from some tutorial to a wormhole, loved the scenery and the excitement of being in lawless space, found some sites and the npcs shot the heron in one of them. I returned to high sec via the bookmarked wormhole.
- realized wormhole combat is not for me yet
- hauled Trade Goods with Badger (and later Badger II) between Caldari high and low sec to make more iskies.
- lost a Badger II filled with Trade Goods in low sec to some pirate.
- shot some belt rats, and did some missions for some Caldari agents
- scanned some more, the sites still too hard for my n00biness
- started the SoE epic arc
- tried to Burn the Hive for three times, losing two cormorants in the process and finally stopped doing the arc after almost losing third cormorant. (I finished the arc much later with a drake)
- flew a bantam towards null, but I think I got scared midway with too many people in local and returned to high sec after mining one bantam full of wonderful low sec ore. (this might have happened before SoE arc attempt)
- After that I did some high sec mining in Osprey again, this time in Amarr space
- returned to station and decided to quit mining for the day, took a look at station services in one of the stations and saw a nice looking corporation office there and sent my application to them.
- Soon after (around that 14th day - I had already paid for subscription though) I became a member of that corporation and started to really learn about fitting ships and flying missions.

Oh, and I think I loved EVE all the time, even while mining, even though mining felt... wrong.

-Did most of the tutorials.
-Read some forums posts. Discovered how rude and sardonic the community is. Got rather shocked.
-Read one of the "Methods of Torture" chronicles. Got rather horrified.
-Found out that Goonswarm was huge because it recruited members from a pre-existing community outside the game. Which ruined my idea that EVE was a sandbox in which everybody had an equal Darwinistic chance of building a tribe and empire from within. Got pretty disappointed.
-Joined a corp of drunken British guys on the other side of the pond. Could hardly understand the local dialect, the game jargon, and the 1337 speak. Got pretty puzzled, but had a lot of laughs and learned the game through corp chat.

Like most people, did the tutorial and then went into the SoE epic arc, and of course banged by head against the guy with the silly tank (Dagnan?).

Tried to join Gentleman's Agreement, they told my I was too low-skill, and to try Eve University. Probably took several days to get through the Eve-Uni red tape before getting accepted, which brought me up to about 14-days.

After joining Eve-Uni I learned a ton. Now, with limited in-game time available to me, I spend time bouncing around between incursions, wormhole pvp, lowsex pvp, farting around with Uni wardecs, and occasionally missioning, with a steadily decreasing amount of null-sec exploration.

If I had just a touch more time, I'd seriously consider joining Brave Newbies for their nullsec adventures. Still might.

I am not an alt of Chribba.

Kicked myself for not having a 21 day trial. Shot 3 ships in highsec right off the bat, wondered why cops were showing up. Went to lowsec and got my rookie ship blown up by a guy far away with artillery. Went out to mine and turned around, seeing all afk people. Did some missions, lost some ships. Asked strangers for ship replacement. Founds hundreds of kind strangers.

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

I did Military,Advanced mIlitary, and business tutorial. Mine until I had some ISK and trained. Then started doing missions noticed that running missions was more fun than mining. Sell stuff, learn to salvage , read a lot in the forums on what to do. Close to the 14 days I wonder around a low sec killing rats, I saw it was more profitable than Lvl1 and 2 missions until I started seeing pirates chasing me down. Fun stories.

I bought a Rifter. I put lasers on my Rifter. I felt like a space badass in my laz0r Rifter. Then I tried to launch a small secure container and was disappoint.

Then I subbed.

EDIT: I remember the very first time I launched a small secure container. It was glorious. Smile

Strangely, I did that exact thing as well. It did not end well. I was so disappointed with it I started flying Cormorants again until I could afford a Moa.

Then my corpies enlightened my mind by pointing me towards Heavy Missiles and the Drake.

"Train Caldari Battlecruiser." they said. "Come out to losec." they said.

I did. And I never looked back.

Mined in a Bantam for days to buy a Badger
Bought the badger and the skillbook
Found out that you cant train industrials on trial accounts.
Quit the game
A few weeks later came back and did it properly on a new trial, read a ton of guides and gave up mining forever

I did all the tutorial missions. Then carried on with the Sisters of EVE epic arc. Once that was done I joined RvB. I only play casually , few hours here and there, so that whole process took me like 3-4 weeks. :P

Saved up bought an omen and mined with it, had 1 missile launcher and 1 drone for killing belt rats, and had 3 civilian shield boosters for tank.

This was in 06, think i played for 2 months before i wandered into lowsec and got killed and rage quit.
