5. Corp.....Now I have happily been a member of CAS since day 1, and they have helped me with so many questions and advice that I simply cannot thank them enough. I do find myself questioning my own path though. I don't feel like I am contributing really to an NPC corp. My manufacturing goes on to the market...sure I have handed a couple ships out here and there to folks in need, but....most of these people are still strangers and new ones appear each day. Would I aid further in a Player corp? Would my skills be used, would I have access to BP's I need, or THEY need? I guess I want to have a more immersed experience....without getting scammed and taxed to death preferably.

I highly recommend you join a player corp. You seem to be active enough and eager enough to do very well in a well managed player corporation. There are inherent limitations to what you can accomplish solo, especially with a single character. Being in a corp opens up a lot of doors. You can share blueprints and work together to make components for large industrial projects. Many corporations will have freighter pilots which you can hire for discounted prices or just "hitch a ride on" when they are making runs to the market.

Should you have any interest in pvp combat, or even just strategies for avoiding it, spending time with experienced players is the absolute best way to learn. Player corps will give you the individual attention that you just will never receive in an npc corp. Conversing with other players (especially on voice comms) will teach you about areas of the game you didn't even know about. I still learn something new every day. And interacting with other players is ultimately what makes EVE fun and unpredictable.

I have spent time in CAS and know their attitude toward player corporations. Loud voices decry the horrors of mismanaged corps and war declarations. New players that ask about corporations are simply told "You're in a corp already." These people either have never been in a player corp or got burned by a bad experience and are bitter. Don't let them fool you into thinking that all corps are bad. Yes, it's true that many corps are poorly managed and not very active (especially in high sec). It may take you a few tries to find a decent one, but it's definitely worth it in the end.

The silliest thing about CAS is they pride themselves in being structured and providing services to their members (pvp ops, mining fleets etc.) when these are all the things a good player corp should do anyway! I admire that they are interested in helping new players find their feet, but their aggressive retention through fear-mongering infuriates me. So many new players end up afraid to join a corp but bored with the lack of content in the npc corp and just quit the game.

There's a whole world out there. Open the doors and go find it.
