You need to explain why this (quite low) skill requirement is an issue.

It's a lot more time when you consider everything else that takes about 16 days or so to train that I am also expected to train.

minimum skills to pilot a capital ship is not enough to get capital ship work

jump drive skills move capitals to split into groups while in practice they want to remain together
Neither of those are problems with the skills. The first one is how all ships work and would require a complete revamp of the entire skill system to change. The second one is an organisational problem and isn't something the game should change.

Capital ships are skill-intensive ships. The skills you're complaining about are in line with everything else about them. So the question remains: why is the relatively low requirement for the navigation skills a problem?

I'd like to send out a reminder that I'm looking for help formulating the post. I don't intend to do any in-depth discussions about the upsides or downsides of my points in this forum. I'm also not interested in opinions that it isn't a problem if you aren't pointing out an actual technical flaw in the formulation of my argument.

Your argument suffers from the technical flaw of being based on an incorrect premise, and fails to present any well-formulated problem that needs solving.

So far all you have spoken about it was opinion-based.

Your opinion is that capital ships and alliance warfare should be a low-SP pursuit

Your opinion sucks

You're confusing me with you.

All ships require support skills to make them work. This is a fact.
The skills do not make capitals split into groups as they move around — poor organisation does. This is also a fact.
Capitals are skill-intensive ships. Yet another fact.
The capital navigation skills are on par with all the other capital skills. One more fact.

Your opinion is that these standard patterns constitute a problem, but you've failed to explain why or how.

What you need to do in formulating the post is justify why 16 days training to fly ships worth tens of billions or more to the alliances that own them is excessive. Otherwise no-one will take it seriously.

I understand your post, but I outright disagree. You are not viable in a recon fleet if you only got minimum skills for a recon as you wouldnt have the range. You wouldnt be useful in a bhaalgorn against capital ships if you only had the basic skills, you wouldnt tank much in a marauder if you only got the basic skills.

To me it sounds like an I want it all now post, than a real issue. If you want to be viable in a capital ship, join and alliance that has jump range 4 as req. Then 2 weeks later your are ready to join the fleets. Not longer than I would need to train to just sit in interceptors for example. Spend another month and you go maximum jump range and can be jolly and join all the fleets you want when jumping around. In a carrier you got a huge fleet hangar, so dont be afraid if your fuel skills are low. it just cost more for you to jump than the rest.

Well from what I've gathered, the major issue with capital jump drives is it's attached to a ship that one can only pilot after years of time spent investing skills.

To alleviate this issue, capital ships should be available to everyone on day 1.

If anyone would like an autograph, you can message me your address and I'll send you one.
