Hi there,

I have been googling some about the solo use of a Pilgrim ( I have been on the recieving end of them ) for pvp.
I would reckon most targets are active tanked and thus ratters or explorers.

However, most of what I found is from ages ago, 2011 - 2012.

Are there any Pilgrim pilots / people who know how to use them that care to explain a bit?

thanks!

my personal opinion is that pilgrim is not so good for solo these days, it sure can kill some stuff but especially anciliary shield boosters makes neuting pretty useless because enemy can still tank for some time.

Also many other ships got rebalanced making things even harder than before for pilgrim.

Also people fly lot of kite condors etc which can take out pilgrim as solo if you do not have link alt boosting your tackle.

I would imagine it is still effective at dealing with afk armor Ishtars. Give or take rat agro switching in the anomaly. Neut the tank out of the ish and hope rats kill him before you.

Hi,

Value of the pilgrim is that you can choose your fights or just fly by under cov-op.
My primary targets were solo pilots in turret ships up to BC and preferably passive with lower HP or active with solo rep and ofc industrials/mining ships. You can engage BSs if they don't have neut or two and are not near the gate. As most of my targets were near gates, I even had web and/or second short point fitted instead some stuff you can see on my loss mail.. This was my fit that I used from draining carriers to initial tackle on stuff when in gang and altho I do have solo kills I had best results when paired with another pilot in cloaky like Rapier or other pilgrim.

You should avoid shield tanked ships like drake, neut fitted BSs and drone boats.
Don't use tr. disrupts right away so they can land few good hits on you because that will keep them aggressed as they think they can win and wont notice they don't hit you anymore. Also if you clear enemy drones try to leave one drone as that will also keep people agressed. Got quite a few people that deaggro with guns but 4got that their one drone is still resetting their aggro timer :)

Typical solo targets

http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=8924137 Sigil+Mammoth (jumped into me at same time, good thing I had 2 points fitted)

Typical group targets :)
http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=7575895 Archon (was initial tackler and got out in 60% hull)
http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=8866622 Tempest (was inital tackle so used only neuts and ECM drones)
http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=7732957 Ark (he had scout and jumped into me P)

Lot of people with scouts actually jumped to me because "one red (me) in local, gate clear" is what they thought.
I got initial tackle and other joined me from 1-2 jumps out.

I would suggest that you start small . destroyers, cruisers and frigates then expand. Pilgrim with rep is good for longer hunts.
People used passive Pilgrims more but I liked agility and speed of active pilgrim. I could perma run rep if i didnt use neuts and neuts I've fed from boosters/extra local cap.

Hope this helps!

I use mine mainly as a solo hunter of Ratters, and by solo I mean my alt in a buzzard scouting ahead of me.

Or as a small gang support ship. "Nah.. they don't have EWar guys.. Oh **** a Pilgrim just uncloaked." Had several close calls in it.. gotten in out in 5% Hull twice before.

IDK any ship that requires the other people to be ******* idiots to get kills is a bad ship.

However their are a lot of stupid folks in Eve, and they are usually **** fit, so have at it.
