Claim overview bug.

Sometimes alliances and corps have their own rules. It's a good thing to break them sometimes. Resolving the issues of who did what and when and to whom in the Pith's Penal Complex is exactly the sort of content that people who play Eve Online: The Middle Management Sim love to sort out.

I go out of my way to follow people around in a fast ship and ninja the faction loot can for a laugh, then lie about its contents when the person convo's me to rage (it's usually rubbish loot, but funny to tell them it was a B-type invuln or similar).

Big smile

You, sir, are a bounder and a cad.
Carry on, you're doing God's work out there.

When someone is in a combat site, I find it only polite to leave them alone in high-sec.
Competition is for low-sec and null-sec.

Considering that the loot in high-sec sites is usually not even that good, it's hardly worth it to be an impolite jerk.
And a cheap one on top of that.

Since gates can be closed, Eve should offer the option to put a private lock on them in high-sec. A 'jump and lock' option.
Where the lock is a consumable that can be build by the players ofc.
The lock should stay active as long as the 'owner' is in the site.

A real pirate can still scan down people to get in them.

I still folow that rule. Unless you're a neut in null, then I will start 'ratting" right away

But in all reality, your average h-sec dweller is too safe or too alt to bother with longterm playingstyles.

When I was new I used to run a lot of exploration sites. This guy came in and started not only going for cans, but going for the same ones I was at! Asked him to stop, he said it's not my stuff. So I waited a week, hired wardeccers and shut his corp down for 2 weeks.

Over-reaction yes, wouldn't do it today, but really... don't get in the way of other people's profits unless you're willing to fight.

No. People are getting pissed because they want you to go away, which has nothing to do with any written or unwritten rules which may or may not exist in someone's head or elsewhere.

Everyone's different. Usually I find everyone's willing to leave the young (under a year) explorers alone to have fun. If the characters involved are over a year old then it becomes a race as that can be quite fun itself.

tbh if you're over a year old the faction drop (if any) from a hisec combat site is usually just a pittance anyway.

There's a few old explorers who still follow that way of thinking, otherwise known as 'Common Courtesy'.

I used to not bother someone who had found a site when I was out exploring, even when I would explore in 0.0, but the loot spew thing made it quite boring to be honest. I liked killing the rats, with a chance of actually losing my ship if I wasn't careful. Removing the rats was a silly idea in my opinion. Haven't done any exploration since the week the loot spew came out.

AIt must have been prior to 2007 when i started doing high sec anomalies. People would swoop in all the time and start shooting. The very 1st Shadow Serpentis I ever saw was a frig in a high sec anom and it's contents were stolen but a dude in a Drake.

In the very very beginning when I first started hisec exploration, I left sites that were already "taken". It didn't last long though, since few people returned the courtesy. And really, if I spend the time to find and scan down a site, why should I leave just because someone is in there? That's just wasted time. So I started contesting sites like everyone else.

Then CCP locked my Tengu and Loki out of the sites, took away my DSPs, made probing easier, and promoted exploration... resulting in more explorers and the plummeting value of exploration goods. So I started being even more of a jerk to explorers that I come across... I hate you all!

There is no etiquette. If loot isn't in your cargo, its not yours yet. And even loot in cargo sometimes changes hands. Pirate
