Anyone got tips on setting up a research station, where should i start faction grinding, ideas for a good placement i want a backwater location so i dont draw to much attention. Actually the hardest part about setting up a POS in high sec is finding a moon that is a reasonable distance from your trade hub in a system with a station that has reasonable rates for office rental. Some disagree, but most of them have not actually done it.

It is easy to find a moon, in a system without a station. But then you have to keep your BPO's at the POS which is very dangerous. Any high sec pirate will no that a research or manufacturing POS in a high sec system without a station is full of BPO's. That makes the POS a big target.

It is easy to find a high sec system with decent office rental rates, but they are always in a system with no available moons.

There are high sec systems with decent station office rental rates and available moons in the system, but they are generally 10 jumps or more from any major trade hub. Moving all your goods 10 jumps or more to sell them gets tired very fast.

I have has several high sec POSes, but every one that was less than 10 jumps from Jita I had to bash a dead POS to get a moon to anchor at. Before you start buying stuff for your POS, decide where you are going to put it. 4 battleships averaging 1000 DPS or more can clear a small POS in about 4 hours. If you do not want to bash a POS, then you need to find an empty moon, that is your biggest challenge.
