10.6 worked yesterday, not today

I have an old iMac with 10.6.8.

Eve ran fine last night. Today, when I log into the launcher, and click Play, it says launching for a few seconds and then goes back to saying Play. Nothing happens at all. No music like the 10.9 people reported. Nothing at all.

I even tried downloading the client and installing from scratch. It flat stopped working overnight.

Can anyone help?

Had this on various occasions. Don't know if it's due to the same problem that I had, but still, I'll give it a short. For me, the solution was opening a terminal and running

killall wineserver

Alternative a reboot.

After the client started you can set back your resolution back to normal

Where that comes from out of nowhere is the question since everything worked just fine last night

Shirah, thank you. I tried killall and got no matching processes.

Mathew, thank you also. I tried that and it did not help either.

Please, anyone else?

I watch Activity Monitor while I click play. Eve gains a child process briefly, then it goes away. Nothing else seems to change.
