2 different launchers, one buggy?

So it seems EVE is using 2 different Launchers.
There is one with a red Background picture and one with a green one.
I realised that when my Girlfriend started EVE and she had still the red one, while my launcher changed to the green background some days ago.

Some days ago, exactly when the "Socket closed" Issues started.
Since today I wouldnt be able to log in anymore, I get to character screen, and as soon as I chose my character im getting the socket closed message.
I can start the game just fine on my girlfriends laptop with the older red launcher. Both are using the same Internet Connection.

Hope this helps, hope to get some explanations =)
