Ok, dont bash me straight away. I have only been here since last July so.

The quad 3500mm on that naglfar, why does the current model look nothing like it? Was it changed? If so, why?

I liked the one on the video so much more :(

Id like a UHD shot from that video when the gun is firing. Would be such an awesome wallpaper :O

Turrets have been updated.

I can't find the specific dev blog at the moment (didn't look that hard), but the Fanfest 2011 video is here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tm8A1t9Y3ZQ

That's just a general example, not specific to your question, but the overall answer is yes, turrets have undergone some animation changes.

If you think EVE resembles EVE trainers, you're going to have a bad time.

Thanks for the reply. I still do think the old one in this case looked far better :D

No, thats not at all what I think. The icon of the 3500mm resembles the one in the video and I though this might be one of those things where the trailer doesnt match reality. They changed it, ok. I just wonder why they would change such a cool model into something quite derpy (imo) :D

Turrets and nebula were two of the better things to come out of Incarna.

Dunno, I guess most bittervets seem to think immersion and such dont matter.

I enjoy WIS, wish there was more of it.

I personally think WiS could provide the same social function as cantinas did in SWG, no inherent gameplay usage, but people would still prefer to meet and hang out there physically instead of watching little lines of text in a chat box.

that and since the stations are supposed to be MASSIVE, it'd be cool to have some sweet mass effect Citadel-style visuals out the windows and such.

sometimes being pretty is its own reward, keep people visually invested in whast going on, make it interesting to walk around and look.

also wouldnt mind more unique and varied CQ's depending on what station your docked at, etc.

Adding more WIS would break the immersion even more. It's probably the largest violation of lore ever in the game. In fact, the way it broke the immersion was one of the many complaints about the slapdash state of Incarna, especially when compared to how they had at least tried to make it gel somewhat in previous incarnations…

Cantinas had a use. (in early times) Get a mind buff, heal mind wound and battlefatigue. (later times) get full entertainer buffs for virtually anythng you could think of.

EVE is a universe, some say EVE is real. How can I represent myself in this world if all I have is a spaceship floating in space or my name listed in local? I'm a person, not a spaceship.

WIS enables this representation of one's self. How is this breaking immersion?

Anyhow, I hope they will get around to WIS content some time in the near future. As for this thread, its totally derailed from the original topic. The original question was also answered so...

well yeah, but the vast majority of people hanging around, at least in Mos Eisley and Theed, were there to hang out, that was true even back before CU, was fun sittign around talking to friends, cause sometimes you just dont WANT to be productive with your time, even virtually.
