You guys are the best. But I gotta ask, 5m to move one load from Jita to Dodixie.... is that too much? I kinda feel bad paying less. I realized that for hub-to-hub routes I didn't need to pay red frog prices, but should I go even lower?

I pay 3m for Jita to Hek.

You're making me feel bad now.

For all your hauling needs, whether it be looking for work or looking for haulers, join "haulers channel" and "public contracts" mailing list.

Seems like one of those instances where CCP ought to set a minimum fee of 25% of the value of the items being hauled, or 25% of the collateral required by the contract issuer, +1% per jump required, where the value is determined by the originating region.

Then create a skill that lowers the minimum fee by 5% per rank.

Then create an "advanced" version of that skill, that can't be trained until the first skill is mastered, that lowers the minimum per-jump fee by .1% per level, to a minimum of .5% per jump.

I'm sure all the courier minions out there would respect the effort of, and give a heartfelt thanks to, all the shipping bosses that worked so hard to achieve mastery in these two skills.

EDIT: implants could be released into the game that can lower the last .5% to 0% or near 0%.

EDIT: And because I'm in the mood to edit my post twice over, CCP ought to make a third skill that allows the contract issuer to set or alter conditions of the contract, to the tune of one condition per level, such as:

1. Issuer decides whether fee for delivery is based off of market value of items or off of the collateral required by the issuer.

2. Issuer may specify the ship class or exact ship type the courier must use.

3. Courier loses 10% of the value of the fee for delivery for every (Hour? Day?) that passes after courier accepts the contract without the items being delivered.

4. Issuer may elect to have the courier contract insured just like one may insure ships. For an additional fee, the issuer may place a bounty in waiting on the courier's head that is equal to a percentage of the collateral in the contract, where that bounty becomes active and legal if the courier fails to deliver the goods. The courier is not made aware of the bounty until after he or she fails to deliver the goods.

5. Issuer gains kill rights on the courier for one month if he or she fails to deliver the goods

Every condition so altered increases the fee by 1% and this fee can't be lowered by any skill or implant.

I have absolutely no issue with CCP electing not to protect fools from themselves.

They don't prevent you selling a PLEX for 20m via the contract interface, so they should not protect you from accepting a courier contract from Dodi to Hek for 700m collateral/1m reward

Excellent boss!

Once you're all trained up in the skills, you can put up the courier contract equivalent of a door frame on the edge of a cliff and post a sign over it that says, "come on in."

I knew you'd see things my way.

You always do in the end.

Well this is the dumbest thing I've heard today.

These proposed changes really ought to only apply to you.

I get dumb evemails all the time from couriers who say they would have done the job cheaper instead of what I offered in my public contracts. It's like a guy at Mcdonald's saying to his boss, "hey I don't need ten bucks an hour, I'm happy with minimum wage."

For highsec, I pay the greater of 1m per jump or 1% of collateral. If I need something moved quickly, I'll up it by a factor of 2-3x. I figure, if a guy has a *remote* Roll chance of getting ganked on one of my multibillion isk hauls, he might as well be able to make up for it after 99 more hauls for me...

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

RFF has told me I'm their #2 customer, but 30-40% price increases annually is adding billions to my freight costs. I'll see you in channel.

Like you, this latest hike finally put me over my limit for just paying RFF for reputation alone.
