these oscar references i've seen over the past few days reminded me that I've had the...pleasure...you might say of meeting jared leto twice. some years ago the guy I was seeing at the time was in a band that opened for Jared's group, 30 seconds to mars, in Minneapolis a couple times. this was before they were the huge group they eventually became. just having put out their second album at this time. he was a pretty nice guy though I got the sense a couple times he was looking at me as if I were a piece of meat lol. he might have been high on the second meeting. i'm not sure. our respective groups had pizza and talked about greek mythology of all things.

Kudos to both him and Matthew on their wins, for roles they would not have dared to take on even a decade ago, really.

ed: 17 years in San Fran and I never did just bump into a celebrity on the street. Or at least I'm not sure. They do disguise themselves a lot these days (I would never in a million years recognize Zachary Quito as he is here).

I was walking past the restaurant Postrio and spied Babs Streisand eating by herself in the window. That's about it.
