So new small build update today after DT (5/3/14).

Try to launch, on client launch get an error - run repair tool - get following error:

Verification failed: 'C:/Program Files(x86)/CCP/EVE/bin/staticdata/mapObjects.db' crc:a8331cbb, expected:d9c0042c

Can anyone help me here? Have run repair tool repeatedly, cleared launcher cache, rebooted - all to no avail.

Had just resubbed too.....

Thanks

Same problem here.

Repair tool does nothing. Deleted the file to force redownload by the repair tool, problem persists. Also cleared launcher cache etc, nothing seems to help.

Count me in as well. Wound up deleting Eve completely and am now in the middle of an eternally long download to see if this will get me back in game.

Most likely it will not help, did the same a few hours ago. The file is still damaged, at least does the EVE client think it is. I guess there is something wrong on CCP's side, but it's weird it does not happen with all players but only very few.

The checksum the cllient calculates with the new installation is exactly the same as before, so it IS actually the file that the client should download from CCP, it has not been damaged locally. It is also the same checksum that is reported with the message above, so it is again very unlikely that this is a local problem...

And as the above two posters posted, deleting eve and reinstalling DOES NOT HELP.

So, what to do now? Has anyone posting here been able to get in game? If yes, how?

You guys wont like this but it worked for me.
Uninstall the client, Clear settings and cache, go into your program files(x86) and toss the CCP folder.
Re-install the client but create a new CCP folder in your program files(x86) and install the client in that folder.
Its a pain in the ass and but it worked for me.
Good luck

I have had this same problem. I am going to try Gorila's answer and try a new install of the EVE client. I had to do that with the previous Rubicon patch. This is becoming a normal thing for CCP to fubar the patches?

After reading this, I tried again to delete Eve and reinstall (which my post above the one I quote here shows I had just done without success) - well, finally after another 4-5hr download once I press play to launch into game I again fail.

File corrupted blah blah blah...

heres exactly what i did, after tossing the original ccp folder, I told the client to select a new destination and i created a new ccp folder for the client to download into. Also before the download i ran a program called CCleaner. I then i turned off all my virus protection including Microsoft security essentials and my firewall as something seems to corrupt the files in question as they download. after the client downloaded i turned everything back on and the client started right up.

I often have this verification failure.

To fix this I always need to:

  1. delete the file 'Checksums' in the folder C:\Documents and Settings\Geeky\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\c_program files_ccp_eve
  2. then run the repair tool which then recalculate this checksum file!

Of course replace Geeky by your own username in the path :)

Only using the repair tool doesn't work.

That said it is still annoying. And would like it to be fixed.

Unbelievably the 'run as administrator' fix works. This was without deleting and reinstalling the client. Checksum fix does not seem to work (although I tried this before the above and may have cumulative effect?).

Still get the error when not run as admin. Weird.

Can confirm running the game as administrator works. But this can't be the final solution, just a workaround. This needs a proper fix from CCP.

So I try to get on today, update, fail - "corrupted broken"

Close launcher, right click Launcher, open Launcher as Admin - in game.

I've been having issues as well with every patch since Rubicon 1.2. For me, I've been getting a lot of .pyc errors when running the patch from the direct eveexe in the bin folder, and bypassing the launcher. I've tried repair, and that just breaks the EVE installation completely, requiring me to do a full reinstall, the patcher gives me the following errors:

Exception in thread Thread-1:
Traceback (most recent call last):

File "zsync\readFromUrl.pyc", line 319, in ReadRemoteData
File "httplib.pyc", line 1013, in getresponse

While the repair tool gives me these errors:

Deleting downloaded temporary data
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "repairTool\progressPanel.pyc", line 82, in _TaskRun
File "repairTool\repairUI.pyc", line 97, in Start

Any help would be appreciated. Redownloading EVE through the offline installer, as the repair ended up breaking my installation.
