Paid voluntary slaves, cool.

The concept of the voluntary Indentured Servant goes back a long way, and is allowed not only in the Empire but even within the Caldari State as well.

Here in the Empire we've been ineed taking notes from our Caldari friends and have been looking seriously as using this method as an effective bridge between our traditional methods of slave keeping and eventual emancipation for all of the same. The difference being, naturally, that instead of the Caldari method of placing an ISK value in their "contract" it will be more of a "approval rating" from the Amarr Civil Service and Theology Council.

Essentially this means rating piety, productivity, humility, etc, as quantifiable values that can be easily recorded, documented and - most importantly - standardized. Thus instead of slave emancipation being at the seemingly random whim of whatever Holder they happen to be beholden to, instead the Imperial government itself would become the arbitrator whom decides when a slave has progressed enough to be offered freedom & citizenship.

If you notice a similarity between this and many of the more common public educations systems within New Eden, it is probably not a coincidence. Education, too, is meant to uplift people to higher aspirations, so using a similar model (coupled with our version of Indentured Servitude) to raise our wards from mere slaves into proper citizens is only natural.

And the best part of all is that it should have a far higher success rate than anything tried thus far. When a slave can see, in Imperial writing, exactly what they need to achieve in order to become promoted to citizenship then they are far more motivated than when they feel that they must simply "suck up" to whatever Holder currently owns them. Knowing that such freedom easily falls within their own lifetimes gives them further motivation to achieve early citizenship for the sake of their children, as well.

I would like to remind you, that such sort of business on the territory of the State is illegal.
In other words, you will be treated as an outlaw, like a gurista.

I see.... actually, no I don't. I realize the use of risqué wasn't meant in the sexual manner, but considering your "slaves" it's adept as well as shocking as initially described.

This, and the term slave being applied in the manner described earlier by you makes 12 kinds of no sense. Sounds like a really grey area of the law, and I suspect a crackdown will happen at some point in the future. As you said, we tend to be more "liberal", but slavery is opposite of what our Federation stands for.

I think it's nice.

Simple topics, silly antics and people talking about the little things that matter to them, including the unusual and silly things.

Sure as hell beats what the IGS is normally like - an elitist, and often hostile, circle jerk made up of mostly flimsy personas who appear composed of nothing but a simple set of opinions versus an actual personality with any flare. Protracted, long-winded political or historical debates, religious angst and other such mind-numbing topics that mostly only those adverse to spending actual time in a capsule seem to have the inclination to obsess with.

What kind of a social venue is that?

Sounds more like sitting in a University lecture, a corporate board meeting, or a parliament, listening to the idiots banter back and forth, arguing over policy or accounting figures whilst watching paint dry. **** that.

Give me nutters, whores, combat pilots and jokers any day.

It's refreshing. Although I'm sure it won't last.
