East Coast, USA. Same problem on all accounts. Have to keep trying multiple times before I can get in. Provider is RCN, if that matters.

Similar problem. I sign in using the bin folder .exe login screen and get blackscreened after character select. If I have mail, the mail notification info box pops up over the blackscreen. Then the screen fades in slightly and displays two "socket closed" messages, one over the other.

This is a touch frustrating. I can't reliably reproduce or work around it. Sometimes this happens, sometimes it doesn't.

My issues (fingers crossed) seem to have been fixed by some mysterious force, so if whoever fixed it is reading this, thanks.

And if you're not reading this, then I can only assume that you're reading my mind and I would kindly ask that you stop.

This is happening to me after today's patch, the "acquiring bulk data" and so on screens appear then nothing but black, the escape menu and close confirm both appear though Ugh I tried leaving it awhile but nothing, any ideas??

EDIT: tried changing graphical settings and nothing, Intro movie plays but now i can't access the escape menu Ugh

EDIT 2: clearing the cache from the launcher fixed it.
