I've been experimenting with this idea, and I honestly don't see this as such an impossibly difficult task as I've really gotten the feeling everyone believes. I've wrote a short about the 'loophole' in immortality that I believe I've found as kind of a Eve/Dust cross. Check it out over at Eve Hobo.

I hope you enjoy it.

that's one way.

The other way would be to get him out of his pod and shoot him in the head. Eggers are ONLY immortal inside their pods. Granted, unless all their other clones are destroyed they could be "rebooted."

I'm fairly certain, also, that capsuleer and dust bunny implants are two different balls of wax.

That's true, it has been established that DUST and capsuleer technologies are completely different and wholly incompatible.

On the general topic of death, a capsuleer can probably be killed provided it is done when he/she is outside of their pod. However, some subscribe to the idea that a process of periodic "soft cloning" can be used to create a backup to be used in the event that a capsuleer dies outside of the pod. While generally accepted for RP purposes, this idea does create some lore problems.

They are. But the main character is a dust bunny posing as an engineer crew member aboard an egger ship, not an egger.

@OP: good story!

Thanks Eika-Tiitta Veitonen, on both accounts. I didn't want to be the one to defend the DUST vs. Egger tech, when both are explained separately in the story.

I'm glad you enjoyed it.
