Can I use a jump clone to save my stuff stranded in lowsec?

Here's a problem I'm hoping you can help me solve.

I returned to eve after a four year absence to find my bs safe in highsec but all my expensive gear in lowsec, four jumps from highsec. Now, I have a jump clone in the lowsec station and a hauler.

What are my chances of being popped if I jumpclone in, load up my hauler and make a warp to zero run for it?

Any other options? A blockade runner would take a month of training. Thanks!

Black Frog is an excellent JF service that would be able to extract all your goodies to highsec for a relatively low sum - about 75mil in most cases. There's several other jump freighter services that offer similar deals.

As long as you've got a scout or friends, making a 4 jump trip though lowsec in a hauler isn't suicide.

To be honest, you don't even need to jump clone down there. Just undock your pod and head down, only thing you have to worry about is Santo Trafficante and to avoid him just watch his killboard.

Lowsec isn't very dangerous if you take appropriate precautions. People even live and thrive in lowsec every day.

Use Black Frog, it's silly to take the risk when you don't have to.

Yeah lowsec itself isnt that dangerous. But the entrance systems are.

Depending on how much stuff you have, you can set up a courier contract or stab and nano and istab a hauler. If it is really small, a dual prop, dual LSE vexor with cargo expanders and nanos works well too.

If you know the market value of the stuff you have in lowsec, you could try making a public courier contract and set the collateral to the value of your loot.

If your gear is in a station that also happens to be a hot bed of FW, I would sell your stuff on the market there. You could make a profit at least 15 to 20% over Jita prices on mods frequently used on PVP fits. Then take your earnings and buy replacement gear in high-sec.

Best of both worlds... you're making ISK instead of paying someone to move it or risk moving it yourself and you end up with the ISK to replace it all in high sec if that's your plan.

+1 excellent idea

You can indeed opt to sell a lot of junk, take out only what you need for now. It's in a station so it's safe. If you alsolutely must do this in a T1 hauler, the chances of you surviving 4 jumps in a hauler without a scout are:

1. Not that bad if you fit well.
2. Increase significantly if you have 1 friend scouting for you.
3. Increased even more if you bother to make safes so you can scan gates from a distance.

I'd say get a bunch of cheap frigs, roam that area to see who lives there and at what times the meanies are on. Pick a decent time when conditions are right, fit enough Warp Core Stabilizers, and spread risk over multiple trips over a period of time. Do something else in between to prevent being found out.

Just after downtime on a weekday would be great, if it's compatible with your TZ.

If I need to do some risky hauling, I start trying to log in at 11.10 EVE time, often times servers are up well before 11.30 and nobody's around.

If it's a fairly quiet area, you could probably make it out with no problem. Most camps are at the entrance. Scout it with an alt.

thanks for all the help! Turns out my alt also had a jump clone in the station so I was able to use him to scout around. I wasn't counting on being unable to refit or redock so it was a one way all or nothing run for it in my hauler. I was able to get out about three quarters of my stuff and no scratches so I'm happy. taking a slightly longer alternate route helped I think avoid the bottleneck camp.

PS is there any way for me to be able to ever redock and get the rest of my stuff out of the station?

In lowsec you may always dock wherever and whenever you please, unless you join faction warfare.

also check if the stations has a kick out and what the docking range is from the undock, som stations are horrible. i lost a t2 hauler on station as i didnt know it had a kickout and i was instantly out of docking range, i usally never loose t2 haulers in low but they had fast locks etc.

how much do you actually have? if it can fit in a t2 hauler ask someone to do it for you.
