Stuttering graphics on high end stystem

I have been noticing some lag and stuttering when the camera is panned around large objects like stations, asteroids and gates OR high particle items like gas clouds. The image lags, stutters across the screen. If I pan the camera around the whole screen multiple times quickly sometimes it seems to stop, but not every time. I've opened up the FPS monitor when it is doing it and the frames are wildly inconsistent, jumping up and down, normally it's locked right in at 60fps(interval one) and wont budge. I tried turning off different graphics features and when I turned off shadows the problem became a lot better but didn't go away.

My computer is using an i5-2500k that runs at 4ghz during gaming, 8GB of ram and an R9 290 video card.

This is what my FPS monitor normally looks like:
Healthy fps

This is what it looks like when it's acting up:

Have you installed AMD's latest 14.2 Beta Mantle driver?
I'm experiencing the same problem as you have described & it seems to be related to the above driver, The previous (13.12) driver worked fine.

Stuck between a rock & a hard place, Smoother Battlefield 4 or a non seizure inducing Eve.
Can't have both:(

Yes, I've been using the 14.1 beta, didn't notice they updated it to 14.2 yesterday. If 14.2 has the same problem I guess I'll go back to 13.12 until the next one comes out.

I guess Ive been lucky with BF4, with extreme settings it was smooth even before the mantle update.

I've been having the same, but I wonder, does this change at all for you when flipping from the dx9 render to dx11? On my machine, dx9 is jittery and stutters alot as well. On dx11, to my surprise considering all the complaints about I've seen, not only does Eve run well it runs just as smoothly as your "healthy fps" picture.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

I installed the 14.2 beta patch and it appears to have removed the lag. Haven't noticed any issues since installing.
