Defender Missiles to midslot

As no one really uses them in their current form I would like to suggest making defender rockets a targeted defensive system and move to a mid slot position, creating a more effective module with a position more in line with its use. (With possibility of an FoF ammunition variant which would defend against drones?)

Why not just create an Anti-Drone Defender FoF Missile and Rocket? The missile version would have a faster velocity and lower damage yield compared to the rocket which would have a slightly slower velocity and higher damage yield.

Nice idea, defenders are almost pointless right now as they cut off to much of your dps without giving much benefit if your up ageist non missile users. So a mid slot mod would be the perfect place for something like that.

This is a good idea. It makes defender missiles the missile version of the tracking disruptor, which is also a mid slot module.

One problem though is that these days missiles have launcher models, so the defender missile launching module might need one too, except that midslot devices do not have external module models associated with them.

Weapon disrupting modules belong in the mid slots.
