Miners are food, and they sit at the very bottom of the food chain.

While mining is necessary to keep the economy going, no individual miner is of any importance to the game at all. If one quits Eve, two more will take his place. Miners need to understand this and accept their insignificance, so they can fall in line and do as they are told by their authorities (and pay their mining permit fees!).

Anyone who manages to gank the Veldnaught would get a GF from Chribba, and a lot of incoming wardecs.

Veld for the Veld God and all that.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

The code is about setting people free from mindless grinding.

Be glad that James 315 plays eve and writes about it.

Don't you see that by spouting the code that you do, your in a cult. A cult of misinformation, people are trying to make some out of themselves, and you put them down. But fear not I forgive you and know deep down, you do not mean what you say. We are all human. Why quote startrek is because it some strive for, for all of us to strive for. I hope you see the error of your way.

Have a nice day,

You're not human, you're a forum alt.

James315 as far as I know writes, acts and posts with his main.

I have no particular love for griefers but you seem to only be here to create controversy. Avoiding their gankers is fairly easy anyway and if you don't get your panties in a bunch when they show up they can even be up for a bit of friendly chatter.

After they blow you up, of course.

I just undocked for the first time and someone challenged me to a duel. Wat do?

You know this is exactly the type of response it is designed to draw out?

Best approach if you want to win is just offer a gf in local and then go about your own play (and learn to fit your ships for some tank so they skip you after scanning, put them on watch list and keep and eye on local, dock up when a threat enters system just like other areas of space, etc.)

Idle threats won't work though and that's all this is. If there was real intent no warning would be needed, you would just go implement.

PS. A lot of people say the Code is a protection racket. It's not. It's more a non-aggression pact. They won't kill you if you pay and follow the Code, but they won't protect you from anyone else either.

Well yes it is a protection racket.... You pay for protection against their gankers.

key word "their gankers" also since the code is a living breathing document even if every miner did comply, it would change which there already is a clause about not mining everyday or it becomes invalid

Following the code means not mining at all if you've even read it. Paying the fee is putting a target on your back to be ganked and then trolled, if not demanded for more isk on another permit to mine, which is made invalid by mining.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

This thread reminded me of a wierd dream i had last night.

I was flying an orca and it got suicide ganked by a brutix and it was fit terribly, i remember during the dream going "Nooo! i would never fit it like that!"

I hope it was a dream anyway.. *Looks at combat log*

James 315 creates great content, and content is what makes EVE unique. Any decent miner has backup ships and upgraded clones. The hazard of being bumped IMHO should be a real and tangible threat.

I say this as a miner.

I love how miners experience so much consternation over THE CODE.

Basically it is asking you to do only TWO things, one of which is trivial.

1. Pay 10m for a year (trivial)
2. NOT AFK mine all f'ing day every day

#2 is something everyone should be doing and should WANT to be doing.

But the miners are so entrenched in their way that they simply can't NOT AFK mine and it's sad. They know no other way, they are dead inside and deliver no meaningful content to the game outside of being wrapped up in the terms of THE CODE whether they like to be or not.

STOP mining AFK
STOP mining all day, every day
And especially, STOP running automation scripts

I, for one, welcome the savior of high-sec and our new CODE overlord.

You do know it's impossible to AFK mine without running some dubious bot program right?

I've had CODE come after my excessively large mining fleet twice already. They have gotten 0 kills and 0 tears so far. Play smart and treat them like ghosts. They will move on.

I also gank miners for fun on the side while mining, so don't go and think all gankers are evil or something. Some of us just like to pewpew defenseless ships because we suck and we know it. Lol

Well, the OP is either extremely naive in thinking that this thread would be in any way productive, or an anonymous New Order alt trying to get more publicity. In fairness, the CODE monkeys aren't saviours of any variety; they're extortionist cowards too crap at PVP to go out to Lowsec where people can and will fight back and hand them their asses on a platter. However, that being said, and much as I dislike the New Order, I dislike whiny Highsec carebears even more. If you don't want to get ganked, then mine in a tank fit Proc or Skiff and laugh as the idiots bounce off you and get Concordokkened... then loot their wrecks. If you mine afk in a yield fit retriever while soloing in a 0.5 system (especially if you're semi or fully afk), then you deserve to get ganked. Emergent Gameplay isn't just about bullies kicking sand in the faces of those unable to fight back; it's about adapting and evolving your gameplay style so that when said bullies rock on up, you make them work for their kill, or better yet play them at their own game and send them home crying (after all, ganker tears, especially CODE tears, are the very sweetest tears of all).

So in summary, use tanked mining barges, work in a fleet, stay aligned, keep an eye on both local and D-scan. If you do this, you will be pretty much as safe as it's possible to be while mining. Contrary to most ganker's stated beliefs, they NEED miners to provide them with cheap minerals with which to continue their asshattery. Better yet, adapt and profit. Use your minerals to build Catalysts AND Retrievers, sell them to both sides and laugh your ass off all the way to the bank.

Now I undock for to gank,
I pray the Saviour my pod to tank,

I pray the Saviour my corpse to mock. Amen.
