After I have a few kills, how can I pod the player when he/she is in capsule? I want to learn how to do the pvp to get myself prepared for living in wh/low/null sec systems and to be an awesome pirate. Thanks! Big smile

If in Dull Sec bubbles will do it. Sensor boosting destroyers can kill one very quickly. Lock and point - but they have to be a noob or lag if you're in low sec. Smartbombing battleships will also get pods.

This is how:

1. Make sure your safety setting is set to "red" if you want to pod in highsec or lowsec
2. When you have killed a ship, approach and begin locking the pod as soon as possible
3. when locked scram or web the pod to ensure it can't warp away
4. kill that damn thing (or ransom it and then kill it, or ransom it and let it go - up to you which one)

If you don't have your safety off, you won't be able to kill a pod that is not a valid target in highsec or lowsec.

Killing a pod will make you criminal if it isn't a legal target (ie. not in a limited engagement with you or is not the pod of someone who is suspect or criminal) in highsec or lowsec.

Point 2 above can be tricky as you can really only achieve it if the opponent is slow or you have relevant modules/skirmish links/implants to assist.

But if they are slow, it is fairly easy. Some players panic/rage when they get into pvp situations and forget to warp out.

If you are aiming to just pod suspects in highsec, then it's also a case of catching the slow players as players who are paying attention will warp out before you gain lock.

A pod has a small signature radius and will insta-warp, both of which make podding difficult unless your timing is good.

Smart bombing is an option 2. I've been smart bombed to a fresh clone a couple of times. It's very effective.

Pretty much this.

I will add, however, (I may be wrong, but I believe this to be true,) that while a pod has a 0.5 second warp time, the fastest locking frig has a lock time on a pod of about 0.6 or 0.7 seconds. So a prepared pod pilot that is spamming the warp button properly (And assuming there's no lag,) has the capability of getting away 100% of the time. The only reason they don't is due to pilot error. Or lag. This is assuming that he wasn't caught in a bubble and actually has the capability of warping to begin with.

What I mean by saying this is that no matter what you do, sometimes you just won't catch the guy.
