Will this CSM election be vulnerable to another scripted voting method again?

You say that like it was a bad thing that should have been prevented.

I think it basically comes down to

If you are voting by computer then another computer could be doing the voting for you.

That being said I prefer the voting to be done by people and not by drone assist. (see what I did there?)

The election and its mechanics are yet to be announced . . . I am looking forward to when they are.

Yeah, I'm surprised there hasn't been more (read: any) word from CCP regarding CSM and the elections this year.

As for ballots... nerf drone assist.

Part of me likes the ability to make it easy for people to vote a selected ballot.

Mostly so people who care less, can still vote a full ballot.

However, what I'd recommend is:

Stage one: allow the full ballot to be posted.
Stage 2: confirm this ballot. (There's a header to force page loads out of frames. This should be used)

Not impossible to script, but a lot harder. And there's /no/ way you can claim it was unintentional.

Ideal world, an automated ballot would be built in functionality. Something like

https://community.eveonline.com/csm/25/12/31/5/2/6/2/15/1 and so on. Make it simple for anyone to provide ballot links.

(It should be noted, pretty much anything can be scripted, by people who are motivated. Sure, you can ban it, but that's a person based system, not a technical one)

I hope so. The blocs have sufficient advantages already.

This, pretty much.

I'm hoping that everyone will be able to build their own ballot links, so it's easy for people to be able to share how they voted with others. This makes it easy for all candidates to put forth slates that support their ideas or which contain people they'd like to work with. It also makes it easier for community members to build their own slates and share them around. For people who don't want to put in the work to fully research 30+ candidates and build a list of 14, but do have some idea of what they want to support, those lists are a way to make voting easy. Click, it sorts and filters, and you add people to your ballot as desired. Sure, it makes bloc voting a little easier, but they were gonna do that anyways.

I'm also hoping this year's candidate page for voting will contain more information about the candidates. Last year, we submitted short descriptions and a longer paragraph about why people should support us, and it'd help if that were available from the final slate-building stage.
