Please put a compass on the HUD - Even if it's just on the overlay.

Having to use F11 to get some idea of shared bearing is a pain in the ass.

It would make sense because 98% of all warpable points are already on a 2 Dimensional axis.

Never noticed that something like a hud compass is missing.

Mmm and where would North be in space exactly?

Now if you said "12 degrees right of Stargate to Jita" that'd make sense.

Sure you can have up and down as it's constrained by the game but you can't really have compass bearings. I think what you need is like a mini system map that shows you where you are and what direction your pointing but then that's F11 and it's only 2D. EvE is 3D so what do you do? F10 and Solar System Map. Well voila, there it is.

Learn2EvE a little harder eh. And no to a fricking compass.

North is roughly constrained by North being in the direction of "Branch" and "Tenal" with the directions orient4ed based off of that. This is due to most sov maps being oriented this way

eg.

An older map

an much more recent version.

Although, if one had some kinda of compass marker (plus maybe 15-30 degree increments) on their tactical overlay, you might gain a bit of ability in navigating (I've always figured it would be helpful to people setting up warpin/warpouts for cloaky forces and things like that.) But would require precious little work on the art teams part to add in (I doubt it would take them any more time than the "camera tracking view" and circle targetting)

I did wonder how long it would take for someone to troll saying what's North.

The answer is of course the same north that is on the F11 view, which would be much better placed on the overlay.

I would expand this idea with an indicator of rise or fall above or below the current plane. I remember being highly disoriented when I first started EVE. When I realized that the spreadsheet (overview) mattered more than the picture I was disappointed. Giving us directions would at allow us to use the picture a little bit more.

It doesn't matter which direction north is in, as long as all players use the same definition of north.

this would be pretty useless.

"**CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"**

Never forget.

Beside that, Eve is so 3D like piece of Paper.

When did you enter a Pocket from "above"?

If you enter a System 98% of all warpable points are on the same altitude maybe some degree deviation but for pure orientation its not important.
