I couldn't keep the jig up any longer. Too many rants on Galnet and too many CONCORD reports made it back to all the wrong people in the big offices in the corp. I gave it away. Maybe the face I put on was I was employed as an ardent anti-pirate who moonlighted as a criminal. Or maybe the face was, I was addicted to piracy and moonlighted as an anti-pirate. Then again, maybe that makes me a just another hypocrite who kills.

I left before they fired me. I went back to Empire, packing up all the toys I collected down in the Provi pipe, saying Au revoir to the CVA boys on the last haul out. Too bad they can't enjoy a drink. But, I digress. Just about when I had enough time to meet my coworkers in the Scope office, I was called in. It was 6 years ago in YC108. That's the last time anybody heard from me on Galnet.

I was under a 5 year blackout clause on speaking (or leaking) any information. That's basically what the papers I had to sign said, and it was about that specific as to what was considered "information." The safe bet is to assume it's anything. So don't talk about anything to anybody. That's what the FIO officer told me in the editors office that day at the Scope. I was familiar with the FIO officer, I had worked with him many times over the course of my contractual duties to the Federation. He was a friend. He is also dead now after this whole thing.

I worked closely with the FIO, the Federation Navy, and the Senate then as I do now. I'm used to information blackouts but nothing like this. I nearly had to disappear.

What I didn't know then, I have strong suspicions about now. The FIO knew about my support for Blaque in the run up to the elections, as did my various employers in the Senate. I tried to figure out how it all fit in. I'm still not sure. So when I was asked to sit back in a luxury yacht out to Villore, I knew something was happening. That's where I found myself in a few meetings. I was told about some angry people I didn't have a care about in some system called Kassigainen that I didn't have a care about.

I boarded the shuttle for Kassigainen not sure if I was working for the Scope or the Senate, the FIO or even that hound Foiritan. I arrived in the station where our assignment was. I was to report on the problems happening there. To my surprise we landed planetside. For a scene of civil unrest, it was a surprisingly businesslike atmosphere. In fact, for a scene of civil unrest, there wasn't any. I was there a whole day explaining to various individual who I was and making up lies as to what my business was there. It was the second night I was there when people began losing control. Thats when the place exploded into levels of mass violence I've only dreamed of.

My timing for my visit couldn't have been better. I was there before anything happened. Or was I? A short while after the festivities began there were reports of a situation going on in space near the gate we came in through. Tensions were high and people were dying, sometimes horribly, sometimes intentionally, sometimes slowly and sometimes intentionally slow.

I recorded everything I could. I took as many notes as I could. I had an insiders timeline of events. (A timeline of events I might add, that doesn't equate to some of the conventional retellings of the incident from trusted sources.) After the damned Caldari lost their minds up there, I was confronted again about my presence there and this time they detained me, though poorly, in an office. I was blamed for being a part of what was happening up there. They accused me of working forces down there at the station while the Federation played dirty pool in space.

I didn't know of any such things and I killed one of the skinny pricks when it was just him and me alone. I was fed up with his damned questions. He hit me. I told him I wish I could ram Caldari Prime up his ass. He hit me again. In the end I did the next best thing to him. It was brutality. That's how I got away. I had to hide for a week planetside before I got smuggled out.

Now, due to a few tiny details not worth mentioning, I've been away for awhile. I don't remember many of you because most of you weren't memorable in the first place. I'm glad to be back in space again, in my ship again, making money again, and killing again.

The Federation knows everything I know. Nothing I've said here is a guarded secret or anything that hasn't been reported on or speculated about in the media to date.

Congratulations on the expiration of your confidentiality contract and welcome back to the world of the 'living', I guess.

Maybe you could write a tell-all book about your experience sometime and make a small fortune to help reestablish yourself!

I wouldn't buy it myself, eww, politics is just boring for me, but it's a passion for many so you'd certainly have a market methink.

Maybe it is my lack of political know-how, but I'm a little confused as to what you are actually on about. You worked undercover for somebody, somewhere, for five years? And now you quit? Intrigue isn't my specialty.

I had thought the implications of what I am saying would be enough for the average citizen to understand. Apparently signing away rights that our people built an empire around, to be sent to a foreign system that is experiencing a riot (which outwardly has little to do with any of my business) to gather intelligence about the event, before said event is apparently taking place, only to have the Federation suddenly (suddenly?) show up to "help" AND be accused of pulling strings behind the scenes just due to my presence, isn't enough to arouse suspicion with some people. That's interesting in and of itself.

Maybe if you had to keep your mouth shut about an political incident which is no longer in the popular conversation, long after it passed, you'd smell what was fishy.

[EDIT] Additionally I have to consider that some of you may still have been in your birth bodies at the time of the Kassigainen "incident" in YC108. You should read more into it and then you'll understand how tense the situation was and how it almost moved us to war.

I think you mistake confusion regarding the specifics of your... issues, with non-caring. This is false. What you said though had no specifics, only general "the government is corrupt" vibe to it. Yes, most people are aware that the inner dealing with the government are corrupt, it's this way with all the empires. But people need a bit more on the "specifics" side of things before they can be properly outraged.

"For some reason, I was sent over here and now I'm being framed for this unknown thing" doesn't exactly mean a lot you know.

combined with this,

Thanks for the needless insult. If I wanted to stress the importance of something, I think I would refrain from telling my audience how much more awesome I am and how worthless they are. But that's just me. Clearly what you're doing is working out SO WELL for you, so who am I to judge really?

Young man, it is not often that a Gallentean who rants on the IGS receives more than insults and anger back at them. I highly recommend you take this rare chance, stop insulting these capsuleers who have chosen to be polite to you, and give more specifics to your story as they asked. You are making assumptions based on information that you and only you are aware of. This is not an effective way of passing on information, if that is truly your intention.

If it is not your intention, then why did you post this in the first place? Simply make the corrections and move on.

A supercilious Gallente spy! You had me at spy, sweetie, and I've always thought agents looked best in blaque - by which I do not mean to disrespect the Ochre - it's just that, you know, skulldigerido seems more aligned with menace than majesty.

But curators drink, darling! It's the pastry eaters who remain celibate - more or less.

Your're no brother of mine, Brutor. You may throw that kind of language around as if whatever bond you feel with other property is shared, but I assure it it isn't.

[OOC: I am excited to be back in this game after so long. Most of the people I remember from IGS aren't active anymore. From what I've been reading you guys have some very cool stories happening in here and the adherence and immersion into EVE canon is impressive. With so many changes in this game since 2008 I find myself in the odd crossroads of feeling like a new player with lots of old assets I don't remember what to do with. I love this game and you guys and I'm very happy to be back here after so long! I'm still becoming comfortable again with what made this character tick and I'm sure in no time most of you will find him as distasteful as when I was last active in this forum.]

This thread is like one of those bad holos that starts out grabbing your attention, sets up a bunch of plot twists and possible scenarios and then just leaves them all hanging in the air when the show abruptly ends. Ultimately you feel used and silly for getting sucked in and wasting your time. Then, to add insult to injury, the director says in some interview that audiences are dumb for not understanding his artistic "vision".

I think I'll just switch to a new channel now and waste no more of my time or have my intelligence insulted.

(( Welcome back, I guess. If your intent was to have your character make a negative impression on everyone I think you've succeeded. I likely wouldn't have played it this way but, that's just me. Better to ease into things rather than just alienate/irritate folks right off the bat but, again, just my opinion Smile ))

My apologies, I should have worded that more specifically towards those Gallente that choose to rant on the IGS about their minor accomplishments or events and make themselves sound more important than they really are.

Although I do not believe in karma, God allows the natural consequences of his actions, and in this case they will likely result in a negative situation.

I cannot say for sure if the Gallente are truly being misrepresented, as I have no experience with their culture. Amarr is in a similar situation due to the misrepresentation of the influential few, something I hope to remedy with time.

I would advice Mr Redpants to reserve some spare time and have a checkup on recent history. Alot has changed the past 5 years for all the factions and their inhabitants.

After he has done that, some proper apologies for some folks here would be the proper thing to do.
