Conspiracy theory of the week.

i see one problem here:
let's say i'm PL leader (LoL) and i'm having heavy losses in this battle. Suddenly i'm contacted by CCP (we will call it 'X') and asked to not 'overload' node.

Now i have 2 options:
1) batphone everybody and his dog and mitigate losses, possibly win the fight or crash the node
2) agree to X's offer and have losses.

Ok, let's say X pays me to chose second way. What currency can he use?
- ISK: it won't help because those Titans need to be built, and ISK won't help to recover fast
- real money: it won't help to alliance.

So for every long-term alliance leader this offer would be not acceptable

Chill man, the 1,500 nerds in domis were foaming at the mouth to go at that wrecking ball in HED. The wrecking ball is an incredible doctrine and we wanted to kill it! One d-scan of our staging system told us we were going to pave the way for the bigs. Every domi pilot in the fight was prepared to burn to get that grid ready.

How badass is it that n3/pl had all those caps and supers on grid for hours daring us to come? There might have been a revolt if the subcab backbone of the CFC got benched for the HED fight.

Did it cost us the battle? I think so.

But lessons learned from the HED battle helped us win the Halloween War at B-R.

TL,DR - Your conspiracy theory is a steaming pile of $hit. Cruise on over to kugu and read the threads and then tell me those dudes would be willing to take a loss of that magnitude to help CCP. No way baby. Cool

Psh.. CCP conspiring with in-game entities? OBSURD! Next someone will probably make up a conspiracy about CCP devs selectively handing out Tech 2 BPOs to many.. of... the.... same......... power blocs......... that still....... exist....

The B-R fight was orchestrated by CCP, paying off some of the leadership of PL and Goons to ensure an epic battle, without over-stressing the node.

I found the flaw in your premise.

It didn't crash, but it was definitely over-stressed.

Try harder.

I do find it strange that twitch had so many viewers for such an awful battle, yet none of us full time streamers can get more than 3 people watching EvE when the view bots aren't up. CCP needs to take some of the 7 million dollars dedicated to advertising the game, and help us streamers get to the front page of twitch by viewbotting us up like league of legends@riot does, and players like kripperian.

I mean, according to some reports, they spend 6 million a year on advertising, I've never seen it. Where do they advertise?

Considering the fight seems to have generated quite a bit of free advertising and drawn a fairly large spike in numbers, I guess spending a few hundred K among some key people would probably be a worthwhile investment. With the constant NDA drive that everyone seems to be on, it certainly wouldn't be hard to keep it quiet. And many EvE players aren't rich in real life, it certainly would be cheap enough to buy a few.

But if it were true, and you found that CCP was ok with spreading money behind the scenes to generate a buzz., how would you feel about it?

Let the flaming begin....before the Lock...Cool

I bet you also didn't know that about 25% of those titans weren't even fitted. What could that mean?

It means they were smart enough to drop their fits into a mobile depot before they died. There were dozens of them in system when it was all over.

Domi's are not the answer to Capital Fleets. If CFC wanted to blob with subcaps they could have used any other BS really and spent the 8 hours vollying Slows off the field. Maels would have been best and considering the training needs for Omega Fleet most CFC training for Nags should have been able to fly Maels.

But that wasn't the goal anyway. The entire reason of using Domis was to overload the grid and force CCP to make a kneejerk reaction regarding Drones. Which they have announced they plan to do. Your leadership and FC's aren't idiots, they knew Domis weren't the answer, but Domis allowed them to get a mechanic changed, that they wanted changed. Martini himself even punched up the exact reason CFC would field Domis in September, with the sole purpose of getting Drone Assist Nerfed.

As for Kugu posting, there were just as many tears following HED there as there were here, and there was just as much smug there is here. But it also isn't full of dumb *****. If you read Kugu you would know Manny has no idea why sov dropped, he has no idea why the HAVOC wallet didn't make the transaction. He also provided evidence of similar issues happening in the past with HAVOC assets.

Which leaves 2 options. Either Manny is lying and knows exactly why sov was dropped, or there was a bug, which CCP will never admit to publicly because the whole fight in B-R was dependent on that sov dropping, and all the good press generated by B-R would be for naught, and would amount to more damage in the gaming community than the clusterfuck in HED did.

Or it was a setup thing, where N3PL, CFC/RUS, and CCP all opted to make up for the bad press from HED. (which is highly unlikely).

One thing is for sure. It had nothing to do with the number of dudes CFC had as Andski claimed. CFC dropped their **** because Laz, Sort and other CFC/RUS leadership decided to man up and drop the actual tools for the job, which amounted to Dreads/Supers/Titans...not 1500 Domis and their 7500 Sentry Drones.

If you offer interesting content, viewers will watch.

What I've watched though has been akin to watching paint dry.

So if you're streaming your ship orbiting an FW plex button while you go afk to eat donuts or whatever, it's a wonder you even manage 3 viewers.

Mostly watching someone else play EvE is boring because a lot of the time there is no action. EvE is generally small periods of action separated by long periods of preparing for action (in very broad terms).

Individual fights draw a crowd because of the expectation that there will be constant or at least frequent action to view and/or because it's an epic or rare event.

AttentionOk, let's say ...
The day before the update rubicon 1.1 /not successful/ falls sovereignty B-R5RB and this event occurs..
Without fear of jumping 100 Titans ...
Broadcast is ready...
is not a theory?
What then?

Titans take a long time to die, especially in tidi. When some of those Titan pilots knew that they were going to die they unfitted all of their dead space/capital modules worth billions and ejected them into those mobile things that go into reinforced mode. This was so that there was a small chance that they could be saved, so that randoms wouldn't profit from their death, and as a middle finger to the enemies because they ended up with a kill mail worth less than it should have been.

Then there's the comedy aspect of it when people don't understand what they were doing Lol
