google and download EVE FITTING TOOL. Purgers are better than extenders for passive tank.

drop the AB, you cant speed tank in a passive drake lol

use active kinetic hardeners

for punching above your weight like this, nothing beats a cap booster plus active tank, you normally shouldnt combine active tank mods and passive tank rigs, but it's worth a shot.

Also if you're aiming for cap stability, you shouldnt in this case, since your tank is breaking so quickly. if you want help, contact "gas guzzler" in game, i'll help you run the site if you are anywhere close.

I'm just going to cancel the mission and see if there are easier ones.

I took off my AB to fit more tank and now the rats run away from me and stay outside of my maximum missile range since I am slower than them. I am actually pretty amazed they have that kind of AI capacity, but at the same time and completely frustrated. They also have begun to respawn, so even when I manage to kill 1 or 2, they are right back there when i come back 2 hours later.

As another poster replied, a lot of it has to do with trained skills. Just because one has the minimums to get into a ship doesn't mean they're ready to fly it. Work on your core skills (cap, shield, etc) in that Drake or something smaller on L2's and some anoms until you get the tactics down.

Get into the core T2 modules as soon as possible: DC II, BCS II, Adaptive Invuln II, shield amp IIs (I'm a fan of amps and not active shielding), Shield Compensation skills, Shield Upgrade skills, etc

The Drake has a drone bay; drop in a flight of hobbies or warriors, and get your skills up on those also. It's a great additional attack vector to be able to sick those drones on the pesky frigates while you're plinking away at the cruisers and BCs.

If at all possible, warp in at range, and not directly to zero (assuming missions where you can Warp To at range, and not those that drop you at a gate). Use that range to your benefit.

I'm not a fan of stacking the same module, but 2x BCS IIs on a Drake is worth it. TP may work for you also, but I rarely used one on my Drakes.

Find what works for you, and what doesn't. Work on what doesn't. Don't do cookie cutter unless that's the only way you roll.

Meta all your gear to Meta 3 or 4.

If you don't know what meta is that is the problem you had.

Do show info on an item see if it has a meta it's in attributes.
If you don't see a meta in the attributes you have a meta 0.
All other meta's will show the level.

The variations tab on any item will show you all the other meta levels if they have any.

Also are you using drones at all? Do you have 5 light drones?

Aw, you could have joined the helpmymission channel, where guys can fleet up with you and help finish your mission. Tap the local community for stuff like these and you'll open a whole new world of possibilities :D

I am running my first L3 mission in my new Drake and am finding it impossible. Even with 17k shield hp, 62 hp/s recharge, and 77% resist against what they are firing at me, I am unable to tank shots for more than a minute or two. The mission has me surrounded by about a dozen or so BCs and elite cruisers, all comfortably missiling me from 60+km. Their DPS is huge. My shields are a quarter gone by the time I have landed one or two missile strikes on my first target.

Since they are jamming me I had to switch to FoF missiles, taking a huge DPS hit. Now when i warp in I cannot even kill 1 BC before my shields are down and I have to make a run for it. I played around with a few different builds, spent some 10 mil on upgrades, and still cannot tank effectively.

Any advice? I know I need to train my skills but if all L3s are this hard and time consuming... I mean I have lost so much money now just on ammo.

"62 hp/s recharge" this is your problem if your looking to passive tank, my mission drake from way back when can do 181 hp/s, i can give you the fit ingame. ive been trying to teach another guy how to tank his SNI but hes been unwilling to lower his dps by droping a couple of the 5 bcu II's

Are you having problems in the first or second room? The second room has triggers and so they can easily overwhelm you. You can complete the second room without triggering any additional waves by avoiding the triggering ships (the 1-2 ships close to you on warp in, typically Moas).
