Small UI change - wire up the damn enter key. Bigger change within.

Hello,

Not sure if it's just me this irks but I would really like to use the enter key to speed up searching for and selecting things.

You know in places like contract search / creation and market search there's a cache of previous search terms kept which provides you a predictive list of search terms previously used? It's a really nice idea, and you can use your arrow keys to select down the list, but the enter key does nothing at this point, you have to click on your selection instead.

What I'd like is that when you part types a term, and the complete term is in your cached list, you can key down to it, press enter and I t not only selects the item, but in the case of single entry controls it's also fires whatever 'go' event the box is tied to.

On the larger scale I'd like to see the whole UI more keyboard friendly. I, like a lot of other eve players I suspect, spend a lot of time at a keyboard both playing and professionally and will therefore be quite competent at keyboard use for navigation. I find this very difficult in game at the moment and I'd dearly like to be able to tab, space select and activate the controls in game as quickly as I can in other applications.

Cheers

B.

+1

Despite some major improvements in the past few years, the UI has always been one of the weak points of EVE, and it's a shame in a game where half of the gameplay happens inside UI menus. It always feels like CCP overlooks the importance of a neat, well-designed UI.

Agree Seliah, the new radial menus are nice and shiny but the core of the UI is also crying out of some love over and above my suggestions here.
