RAW Materials 30bil Bond (closing)

I am issuing bonds to the value of 10 billion isk (see note below for total public exposure) to provide capital for a station trading operation. The interest rate will be 4% per month and the length of the bond will be three months with an option to renew by mutual consent. Interest will be paid on the 19th of each month. This will be an uncollateralised investment. Background on my previous activities can be found here.

The plan is to continue trading in Jita, after the pattern of my last bond, with a single character who has nearly maxxed out trade skills and extremely high standings (Caldari Navy and Caldari state both above 9).

My aim is c. 15bil profit per month.

Investors:
Nightjester - 9bil
Taram Caldar - 1bil

A little note of explanation on the bond size and why it is already filled

I had initially intended this to be a 50bil bond and I emailed some previous investors who hadn't had the chance to get in on my last bond in order to give them priority. One of them offered me a private 40bil loan at 0% and the others filled the remaining 10bil. So, despite only issuing 10bil in bonds my current liability is 50bil.

Since this filled so quickly and in a slightly unexpected way I may offer a further 20bil expansion in a few weeks so that other investors can get in on the action. The expansion will be in order to do some industrial stuff alongside the trading if it turns out that I have enough time. In the event of going ahead with the expansion previous investors will be given priority and there will be a cap of 4bil per person to allow a few more people to get involved.

Expansion Reservations:
Nightjester - 4bil
Taram Caldar - 4bil
Kithran - 4bil
VV - 4bil
Mr JLB Maketoni - 4bil

Rgr. I'm afraid that if more previous investors come along it might bump you off the list though. Apologies in advance if that happens.

Edit - I should add that Taram and Nightjester are provisional at this point so it is also possible that their slots might get freed up depending on their situation at time of launch.

Sorry Grendell but only 4bil slots available for the possible expansion Cry I'll reserve one for you; just let me know if it's too small to waste your time on. And I promise I will save you a decent slice of the next bond!

Merlin - Thanks for the interest. I'll put you on the reserve list as there aren't any free slots at the mo but some might open up before it goes live.

It is oddly reassuring to see how despite all the lessons people claim to have learned over the years and despite all the grand posturing in response to low value loan requests MD has not changed one bit at heart.

I'd be fairly surprised if RAW23 cashed out his reputation for only 30 billion ISK.

He could get a lot more if he decided to pull a Bad Bobby.

If I decide to go forward with the expansion (which will depend on how much free time I have once I have ramped up the trading) my total liability will actually be 70bil rather than 30bil, since I also have a 40bil loan from another source (as mentioned in the OP). However, 70bil is still considerably less than the highest level my liabilities reached a couple of years ago.

To some, and I consider RAW to be one of these people, a reputation of trustworthiness is worth more than all the isk in the game.

I've given away more than that, so for a long con to actually leave me with an overall positive balance I would probably need a haul of closer to a trillion Blink

I actually said a while back that I would never borrow more than 100bil because I have always felt that the bigger offerings are bad for the investment market and encourage irresponsible behaviour. I might revisit that figure one day in the light of PLEX inflation but I don't see it happening any time soon.

c. 800 billion was his claim iirc. T4U was something like 450 bil but where the rest came from is a bit muddier. That's assuming he was telling the truth, though! He has been known to be somewhat dishonest on occasion.
