Killed by CONCORD for attacking a SUSPECT

I saw a person with Suspect status (flashing yellow indicator) in front of a highsec station, which should mean that any capsuleer can fire at them.

I attacked him only to get a message that I had committed a crime, and as subsequently killed by security. Other players apparently had the same problem, because there were the wrecks of other ships around the suspect-player.

Now I'm out a ship, have no insurance money (my "criminal" act voided the insurance), and have a pretty little death on my kill log saying that I attacked an innocent ship in highsec.

Anyone else have the same/a similar problem?

What can I do about it?

been there, done that.

what hapened, is that the timer ended the exact split second you fired, coupled with a little overview lag, you actually shot a non-suspect (wich was suspect a split second before).

yeah, it sucks. i lost a rapier that way, the second i pressed my point, he was still suspect on my overview yet i took concord.

did a petition and GM answered me i got concorded because i shot a non-susect
