I'm not sure I like this feature. It's really not even about the merits of whether it could be a good gameplay mechanic or not. It just seems like it shouldn't be anyone's business but your own whether the ship is insured or not. I'm not sure what the reasoning is behind this, though, and would love to know more about what brought it about before it goes on TQ.

lol I like this change. It shows the ppl making the changes lately are schitzophrenic when it comes to whether or not suicide ganking is bad.

Not insuring your ships will be the new monocle.

Wait... the remove insurance from Concord deaths, and add in the ability to see who has insurance? So now, the miner can guess that the BS next to him with insurance isn't going to gank him, but the Dessie without it will.

Sweeter tears? I don't see a problem with this feature. When you get into a car wreck you find out who does and does not have insurance. What's the difference with a space wreck? I think it's fine. Knowing that is just more lulz on a killmail... and lulz are always good.

All ships are insured, by the way. But you don't have to pay for the lowest level of coverage.

Is that reflected on Sisi?

So now everyone will have spies in The Secure Commerce Commission? Are we to believe they have no security over the insurance details. For that reason alone it makes little sense.

I don't know of any insurance company that gives out other peoples insurance policies.

TBH I don't care either way, I'm just trying to make sense of why it would be there.

It's a new feature to help Tier 3 BC pilots find targets.

Now let's see a feature where we can see if the CARGO is insured. Twisted

But, since this is EVE, it'll be the battleship that ganks them. Just for the laughs. And to keep the miners on their toes.

Surrender is still your slightly less painful option.

I think they're only trying to make it so you can check your own ship's insurance without boarding it...

I can't remember the last time I insured a ship and I personally don't really care about this.

But I can see where people might find it a little over intrusive. There really is no need to know that about someone except for the tear reaction if you decide to go ahead and gank them.

At the end of the day it doesn't add anything to the game so why put it in?
