[FIXED] Performance fine before, but terrible now. Is it the patch?

So I'm running EVE on an HP Spectre XT laptop (ultrabook) on Windows 8 with an i5-3317U @ 1.70GHz, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD, and Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics. When I was playing the 21-day trial, I had absolutely no issues with performance, even with medium settings and a pretty high resolution (1366x768). The framerate was fine, with no perceptible stuttering. Recently, I've noticed that the game has become almost unplayable, even with all graphics settings on low and minimum resolution. What could have caused this? Is it the recent patch? Could it be a problem with my drivers (even though I've apparently got the latest Intel drivers)?

EDIT: I fixed this by clearing all my settings in the "Reset Settings" tab of the ESC menu in-game. I don't know what specific settings change caused the problem, but I know the game works fine on my default graphics settings (everything on high, but no anti-aliasing). I thought I'd leave this post up in case someone else has a similar issue.
