Lack of NPC Capital ships.

Was just curious as to why there are so few NPC capital ships that we can fight in anomalies. I personally would like to go up against not just more numbers of smaller ships but harder ships as well. I know there are a few lvl 5 missions that have them but that's all I know of. While we are on the subject as well I am curious as to why there is only 1 "capital" Rogue Drone as well. It would be kind of cool if every so often a capital drone appeared after a horde site to give you a bit more of a fight or something. As it stands there are no sites that are required to do in a capital of your own. It would be nice to have something that carrier pilots could run that a battleship or smaller could also do solo.

You want to grind cap hp in pve? Seriously?

It wouldn't hurt to see more drone BS models than just the domi though. No idea why they can only infect domis...

They wouldn't have to be as hard as player capitals. Personally the only one I have seen was in a rare lvl 4 storyline. It took me a while to kill it and its support fleet. Finally required me to bring in a friend but it was a lot more fun than simply popping a bunch of battleships. I am also saying that it would need to have more reward for killing a NPC capital to compensate for time invested. I just think that Low and Null sec could use some NPC capitals for either group PVE or running them in your own carrier.

I have thought this as well. Ultimately, however, it had better have at least 10x the bounty of a normal rat, or else I'll just warp off and not bother. The pain of chipping away at something with the health of 10+ NPC battleships is just... painful... And neither fun nor challenging.

Did a storyline a month or so back that had an infected Hyperion and Abaddon. I guess drones just like space spuds...

Can you hear them? They are calling to us. It is beautiful. http://thegreattichim.wordpress.com/

In the lvl3 epic arc mission, Knockout Punch, you get to face and kill a State Tzanaki or similar NPC Caldari carrier. Not only that, but you get to do it in a shuttle and in the end you even get an insurance payout for the (inevitable) destruction of your shuttle.

On the way to the carrier you have the opportunity to engage (not advisable) a fleet of 18 Guristas battleships, as well as a smaller fleet of suicidal cruisers (x 3) and frigates (x 7).

The carrier kill returns pretty ordinary salvage and looting gives you 1 x Caldari Navy Fleet Rear Admiral Insignia (dogtag), sometimes some unexciting modules and sometimes a heap of marines. Successfully killing that carrier, and completing the mission, rewards you with isk, standings, and a Dread Guristas ECM Multispectral Jammer module.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

Blowing up the carrier in stray xxx carrier missions (1 for each of the 4 races) is one of the most boring missions around. I really don't see why you'd want more pve experiences like that. If you want to see more than one in a single pocket, then the last mission in "The Big Sting" series has two carriers on field at the same time. As tempting as it is to drop a dread in that mission, I wouldn't advise it. The only dread I've ever lost playing this game was lost to npc's in that mission.Oops Pretty easy in a carrier though, just takes ages.

The funny thing is, the large rogue drone is not a dominix, it's a hunk of bizzare metal that has a certain meaning for those nutcase sillicon lifeforms.
