Man, I can only imagine how pissed off all the WoW kids that paid 60 dollars times three for WoW, Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King must have been when in winter 2012 Blizzard gave all of those to me for free just for having a Battle.net account.

You didn't get it.

Yes I did, OP. Everyone posting in this thread got it except you.

Your rant basically translates to

"I bought a product once and now that product is never allowed to drop in price or go on sale again."

There's really nothing more to it than that and I get it, I really do. It's one of the easiest fallacies to fall victim to. I've done it several times.

But you have to get over it. CCP is fully within their right to charge whatever they want for their products and you're fully within your right to accept or reject their offer. That's how the market works. They asked you for 150 euros and you paid it.

Now they're asking for 100 euros and someone else is paying it. Because the market for people who are willing to pay 150 euros is now saturated. Everyone who was willing to pay 150 already paid it. So now they work their way down.

And even implying that they don't have the right to is just acting entitled.

I just undocked for the first time and someone challenged me to a duel. Wat do?

Again: It's a teaser offer. It is not getting cheaper in general.

Then even more so. They are doing a sale to try and increase numbers sold.

For a game where most people claim it takes intelligence a lot of people act like entitled 5 year olds.

You mean that a company tries to maximize it's profit? *applaud*
For a second I thought you meant me with the 5 year old...

You sir absolutely miss the point. I feel sorry for you.

I just don't like it that this price of 149 [add your currency here] does officially (by ccp) not represent the worth of the product. I feel like it is worth 99 and everyone who payed the original price has been ripped off. This is because the discount is VERY high. I feel like this and I know there are many others (where are you guys?Blink) that do too.

Yet you thought it was worth 150 spangles when you originally purchased it. Had you not done you wouldn't have purchased it. Again, your argument is flawed.

If you have learned anything from playing this game you must have learned that price is dictated by market forces. Clearly, although you felt the contents of the box justified 150 spangles when you bought it, the rest of the market didn't and CCP has now reduced the price to clear stock/drive more sales.

Whether we are talking about software, a new computer, a car or an egg is completely irrelevant. Price setting is done by the manufacturer/retailer and fluctuates due to market demand. You, unfortunately, have simply been unlucky. Live with it.

Wow this is really interesting. And because of that I can't complain about what they do?
I never said they do something illegal. I am just stating that I am not ok with it.
I don't have the power to force them to do anything about this. I am making a point and was hoping that others also think that this sales policy is in some way offending to the customers.

Why not tell them when you are not happy with what they do? How am I supposed to see politics changing if I don't tell them?

Unless I'm gone crazy, Pre-orders also got special benefits which people buying now won't get.

I was going to say this. But since I didn;t buy it again after it was released, I cannot confirm that only pre-orders got the special in game items.

If you're such a free speech advocate, then you should probably tone down your snapping at people that tell you they disagree with your arguments.

You come to the forums, nostrils flaring, breathing fire and, if I may say, quite a bit hostile on top of all that.

And yet you expect to be given room to flail and thrash unrestricted.

The right to an opinion is not a one-way street. If you understood that you wouldn't be so hostile towards everyone who gave you a counter argument.

But I don't even know why the **** I'm even bothering to type all this since you'll just Ctrl+V the "You missed the point" you had in your clipboard since you started this thread.

Someone give me a Like, I'll feel less empty inside.

If anyone feels offended by my writing who had not himself implied to insult me, I am sorry for that and it was not my intend.
After all english is not my mother language. Also you might imply a mood to the writing when there is in fact another.

I admit that I breathed a bit much fire in my main post but this was to provoke and draw attention to this (in my opinion) "offending sales policy".

If there is one thing I have learned in the past years about game companies, it's this: Never preorder anything from a game company, ever!
Every time I have done this it turned out to be a mistake, either because the game was unplayable at the start (e.g. BF), a piece of overhyped crap (e.g. X Rebirth), or various other reasons that made me wish that I never had pre ordered it.

Tell me if I got this correct:

You complain about a special offer, which was offered at a special time. You also Complain about price cuts?
As someone who works in retail (I manage a videogame store), I will only say that the law is not with you in this case, regardless of your feelings.

I also do not agree with how you feel, since price cuts and discounts, and special offers are nothing new. You new xmas was coming, yet you chose to support CCP and buy it beforehand (I assume that was the case). Xmas is all about special offers.

Discounts happen instantly. One day an item is 150, the next it 100. This is how it happens. It's nothing personal, and no one cheated you out of anything. You want low prices? Next time you wait.

And sorry if I sound rude, but your post read rude to me.

The logic to buy CE as pre-order is to get it first with the additional in-game items. The in-game items are valued over several bill, then you also got the mystery code + PLEX. In reality, you shouldn't be asking for more. You got what you paid for. If all you wanted was the book then you should have waited.

I'm upset with the way these releases are being done, especially EVE: Source this past week, but the OP's argument fails on so many levels.

I thought you pre-ordered so you could brag about how up-to-speed you are, and how behind-the-times everybody else is [was]. You buy the bragging rights then complain about the deal? NVM (as was mentioned) the later discounted package wasn't an exact duplicate of what you bought (which apparently you do), buying the discounted package has NO bragging rights attached. In fact, those people are tagged with "I'm cheap!"

Yet, you complain. Have you no sense of the modern market system? Can't you get screwed and like it, just as the rest of us do? What makes YOU so special, HUH??? Geez. You'd think you expect to get your money's worth! Who are you, GOD??
