Collector's Edition - enough is enough - I WANT MY MONEY BACK!

OP its not just EVE to be fair

Battlefield 4 was the same when Premium and the game got heavily discounted after pre orders etc.

Truth is BF4 suffered heavily with the horrible game launch, so they had to do something to attract new players.

Its the same with EVE I suspect as well, the pre orders didn't seel as much as expected so they are having to discount it to sell through what stock is left

I CLAIM that you CCP pay at least 3 PLEX to everyone who can prove that he or she payed 149 EUROs for that product.

3 PLEX are not even worth 50 EUROs and besides that fact CCP does not even need to pay back real money. So I think that is more than a generous "offer"

I hereby shout out to every customer who payed 149 EUR for his collector's edition because he LOVES Eve Online and is now betrayed by CCP for this LOVE!

Ummmm NO everything pre ordered is generally less expensive after a year...you'll want money back after everything you numpty.

If I understand that wall of text and unnecessary capitalisation correctly:

1. You purchased a product before it was released;
2. You received said product; and
3. Now you're angry because the joint manufacturer/retailer has decided to have a Christmas sale for the masses further down the line (presumably stock isn't selling fast enough and they want rid).

Your argument is ridiculous.

Would you walk into a shop, buy a computer and then go back 3 months later and rage at the shop manager for a discount because they're now selling it cheaper? No. No you wouldn't.

If you did the shop manager would tell you to '**** off' and that is exactly what CCP are doing right now, funnily enough.

I can see why the op is annoyed, if I purchased it I would also be annoyed, when you stamp the "collectors" tag onto a item people expect limited print run and rarity, however it seems from Christmas and now the new sale that the item is less collectable edition and more ultimate edition, ie extra goodies in bigger box that does not have a limited print run.

Okay all of you damn smart human beeings I will sum things up for you.

1. My "unnecessary capitalisation" is there to draw attention - succeeded (mostly wrong people but still a success)

2. I chose my writing style or often called "rage" or "hate" to provoke - succeeded (mostly misunderstood but still a success)

3. For all the comparisons with other products (cars, computers, ...) I have to say: Sorry you are all wrong. There is a big difference in producs.

4. This is a statement to the ccp sales politics. And if you all feel positive about this, it is fine for me. Most of the few that did not just leave their nonsense here brought the argument that this is all "normal". Yes it is normal that most of the industry gives a sh** about reasonable price politics.
What you dont see is that you have a voice, an opinion about that. Are you really that kind of "robotic" that you just eat what they feed you and you take it for "normal" after it happened a few times?

I just don't like it that this price of 149 [add your currency here] does officially (by ccp) not represent the worth of the product. I feel like it is worth 99 and everyone who payed the original price has been ripped off. This is because the discount is VERY high. I feel like this and I know there are many others (where are you guys?Blink) that do too.

And CCP should be aware of this.

Sales departments don't care about voices, they care about dollars, or pounds, or whatever the local currency is. If you want to make a point, don't pay for pre-orders. Don't buy stuff the moment it gets released. If you don't like the cost of something, you don't buy it. Clearly, you had no problem with paying the amount you did or you wouldn't have paid it. Just remember, it's not uncommon for game prices to drop shortly after release, whether they do well or poorly. If they're doing well, then the company can drop the price, sell even more games, and still profit. If they are doing poorly, then the company drops the price to encourage sales.

It's up to the consumers which one happens. If it's worth the initial price, the only people who are going to have a problem are the cranky kids with entitlement complexes that get cross when the price drops because that's what they could have paid had they waited a little while.

See how I added emphasis to that word without using capslock?

I pre-purchased the CE and I'm happy with it. I don't really mind the discount as I've already been enjoying the CE for some time now, compared to the people who buy it now (with the discount). Really, those 50 bucks I spent "extra" are well worth the enjoyment I got out of it before others and the time I did not have to wait in anticipation of a discount! I hate having to wait for a discount...

I don't get your argument about the release of games. This game is released. It was released more than 10 years ago. So there is no compareable calculation behind this kind of "release". Besides this, the price is reduced "for a short time" the second time in 4 months. It is not a mirror of the market

And if I had a problem with 150 Bucks I would not have bought the CE. I just have a problem with these teaser offers with one third discount.

Way back in time in 1980, my buddy purchased a Hyperion 8088 Computer with a built in 4 inch monochrome CGA monitor and 2 floppy drives. He paid $5000.00 bucks in 1980 dollars. 6 months later it was being sold for $1200.00, a $3800.00 dollar difference. His response? Thats how it works, this new technology. Yes, he wasn't happy but he didn't whine and snivel over $3800 bucks like this whiny OP is complaining over $50 euros. I have ZERO sympathy. Shut up...

I totally agree! I think that a general price drop after six months to 99 would not have drawn my attention. But teasers of that kind every two months do annoy me.

Touching story but this is called competition. It's interesting that most of you percieve these as same situations.
