Why would you expect a GF in local?

If you're doing it right it isn't a good fight.

It's meant to be completely one sided with no chance of escape.

That is the mark of a quality ganker.

'Gf' is something you type after experiencing PvP. Ganking barely qualifies as PvP.

Ganking is what commandos do.

PVP is like the old wars of the 1700s, where the soldiers lined up in red and blue pajamas and took turns shooting each other.

I always go commando. And yes, that has a double-meaning.

incidentally, if there was a player "killing everything that moves" in order to control the price or affect the price of some commodity, that's still legitimate gameplay.

Mr Epeen Cool

believe it or not, there is local in wormholes. it just works differently.

PvP as in "player versus player"? Or PvP as in "pancakes and pineapples"?

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.

Eh, I at least have the decency of typing GG instead of mailing hate. But don't act like you are helping the economy, you probably sell for high and wait out your orders, you sly little serpent! Not that I should judge, the loot fairy gets her fair share when I... "farm" datasites. Pirate

I just realized that if you make your posts smell a bit like troll, it's hilariously amusing to see the anger of people who think you might be daring to troll. It's puzzling and funny all at once. And sorry, no, I'm not a tough guy, but every time I fly I don't have training pants on. I'm in a wormhole, risking everything. And so far I'm winning Eve. That's because CCP has empowered the little guy to conduct asymmetrical warfare, at will, any time, any wormhole.

I'll always be grateful to CCP for not forcing me to play Carebear or kiss a ring.

Amen.

Wait what? PVP simple means player vs player.

Your objective: kill that player

The other player's objective: stopping you from killing him

PVP created

Saying it isn't pvp is bullshit, I will understand if you said it isn't "elite" pvp. Anyways if you mine, or haul something worth ganking your opinion doesn't matter, only your tears do.

Ganking being called pvp is like calling someone getting mugged for $8 a grand heist.

No one is calling it "grand pvp" scrub, they are just calling it pvp, which equals player vs player

Player shoots

Player dies

=PVP

simple equation. If I bring a 1000 man gang to kill your 50 frigates is that not pvp? maybe not grand pvp but definetly pvp.

You're correct but a distinction needs to be made none the less.

If someone pulls out a gun on me while I'm unarmed and then shoots me as I beg to be let go, is that a fight?

Similarly, PvP combat must involve both sides engaging in combat. The industrial/miner pilot is not, therefore it's not truly PvP combat.

PvP, yes. In the same way that two traders competing for the highest buy order are engaging in PvP.
PvP combat, no.

If you are living in a country where the law states you can shoot someone, but if you do we will destroy that gun, and the "victim" still goes around carrying more **** than the gun is worth with no protection, then yes that is a fight. Because as a boxer in a ring is supposed to protect his body, the "victim" in such a scenario is expected to protect himself, hence fight. And your post didn't state not "grand' but it is not pvp at all, you are just constantly amending your words and arguments.

Wow, look at all the hate I got from pissed off gankers. Mission success.

Also, for those of you who were like 'but is teknicaly pvp!1!', read it again 'scrubs'. Barely means it does qualify. Just.

So where does the term barely fit in? It either is, or it isn't. Straight

Well, mining is 'technically' PvP. Selling things is 'technically' PvP. Mission running is 'technically' PvP. They qualify. Fact is, some things are more PvP than others. And ganking falls lowest on the list of 'PvP' activities where one player blows up another one's spaceship.
